Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank SkillfulPiranha7944

Although it lacks some enhancers (so that it can claim to be pure), the ingredient list is pretty impressive. It has 4 enzymes to break down organic stains when many detergents have only 3 or less. Subtilisin is for protein stains while Amylase, Cellulase and Mannanase handle the carbohydrates.

That said, some experts recommend avoiding enzymes if your clothes aren't very dirty. Guess what else is organic? Natural fibers such as cotton, wool and silk. Like organic stains, these fibers are also made up of proteins and carbohydrates. Enzymes break apart proteins and carbs so some experts say that they can also degrade natural fibers. That's why detergents like Woolite do not have enzymes. It's something to consider when you buy your next bottle of laundry detergent. Buying cheaper detergent without enzymes will not only save you money but it may also save your clothes.

My approach to laundry is the same as my approach to medicine. Use the minimum possible to achieve your results. If the least potent dose doesn't work, use something stronger until you get the desired results. But don't immediately blast your clothes with Tide 10x, their most powerful detergent, when you don't need it.

But your clothes may not! Some experts say to avoid enzymes for natural fibers like cotton. Please see my prior post for more details.

The liquids are better for your washing machine, especially if you wash in cold water. Besides, the Tide Purclean liquids don't contain optical brighteners, while the Tide powders do.
So it really depends on what you're looking for and what you're trying to avoid.

Liquids are better for the machine? How is this? Genuinely curious. Thx.

Some powders don't fully dissolve in cold water especially in HE washing machines that use very little water, and residues may build up after years of use. Consider using warm or hot water if you decided to use powders in HE washers.
