The policy has changed recently. You will require 60 days of paid active service. It is no longer activate it and forget it for 60 days policy. I tried to unlock Samsung A16 5G after 60 days but was denied as I have not used the phone for 60 days of active service (only signed up for 30 days). This was 5/10/2025. I didn't bother with signing up for 30 days more yet.

And I'm sure you get a phone number which could be used to maybe transfer to Google voice because I ran out of landline numbers or cell phone numbers to transfer to Google voice

Gets amazingly better performance than my 2020 Moto G Power. That is to say performance is a relative term. It's a completely competent phone. Amazing at the $36 I got it for. Enough minutes and probably texts for a year. What's not to like?

(Okay probably the quality of the pictures it takes, but it's still competent there. Or the storage, but it accepts sd cards, so nbd.)

So, when you activate the new phone, and keep the old phone number (using it on the new phone), what exactly happened to all your previous credits (data, minutes, messages) if you can no longer combine everything together in the account?
