Only problem is their new crazy high subscription requirement. Look into it if you're new to the ecosystem. I'm actively transitioning out.

I'm considering that myself since my existing floodlight stopped doing motion notifications. my doorbell is Old also. what are you switching to?

Is RING good if we are looking for yearly monitoring subscription? I see 200$ is cheaper than other security providers. Pls suggest.

Seems was $160 for new unit during Prime Day. But these Woot unit color choices are "Dark Bronze" and "Graphite", not the typical white and black. I guess Graphite is a dark grey.

I was thinking about out Reolink myself. I wanted everything hardwired but lots of work to do and I don't want to spend mula to outsource the work either. Ring is good for me. When they raised the subscription I was upset. But you can have all the recordings saved and have access to it at any time. You can have unlimited Ring cameras and its the same subscription price. Only downside is it only records motion for up to 2 minutes max. And motion sensor can be hit or miss too, which is why I wanted Reolink or any other camera DVR system hardwired.

Reolink has the wireless version as well doesn't have to be on a wired network.

The camera and light on this is awesome and works great, but a word of caution; I installed one of these only a few months ago, and the camera ended up with condensation/water in the lens that renders it pretty much useless. No sure if it was due to rain or what. Luckily it was still under warranty, so Ring sent me a new one while I have to send the old one back. I bought a cover off Amazon to see if that'll help from water getting into the camera, but it seems to be a very common problem for this device even though it's marketed as an outdoor camera. Mine was also not even completely out in the open, it's mostly covered under my 2nd floor deck.

I thought as long you have subscription, the camera replacement is free

Another vote for switching away from Ring.

This was good 5 years ago, but better options available now and without subscription fees

I don't understand why people want to buy this thing? why you pay subscription fee each year? there are many decent ones out there which don't need sub fees.

Personally I'm thinking Eufy. I first chose it for my mom's house so I can monitor for her in the cheap. I've found that it's nowhere near as nice, but it does the job. I can arm her house when she takes off in trips, so it was peace of mind on the cheap. The big downside is quality and use case. They can have connectivity issues and die. I installed it almost 3 years ago and the doorbell camera, smart lock, and one flood light are doing well, one other floodlight just died. All the indoor sensors are going strong.

They had either a scratch and dent or refurb version on Woot last week for $100. By the time I decided to order they were sold out of white and only had black left.

It was also the Wired Pro, I'm really not sure if this one is the same or different.

Because the fee includes active monitoring and that gets a home insurance discount?
