Are they phasing these out already? I've messed around with them and they seem like they're good quality but that original price point of 12 bills was just too much for me to justify as I already have a ton of storage solutions. I can't decide if 800 is my number or not

not phasing out. just a sale. milwaukee does this 3 times a year with their packouts when they need to clear inventory.

I don't think they're phasing them out, but this is the first real sale that I've seen for the DXL system.

Maybe they realized that their release price was outrageous and nobody was buying them. They had one set at my local HD last fall, they never sold, still there, all dusty and dirty now. Almost a year and not one local sale.

i think the real market for these are commercial construction where you might have to cart from area to area. when i did commercial the company didnt provide my boxes or cart. just big shared gang boxes. so yeah, if workers have to buy them they wont sell at that price. seems like a nice set of boxes though.

Not providing a cart is a dumb move by the company. If workers can move their stuff around easier, the work gets done faster.

very interesting that the "storage" is costing more than the "tools" it is supposed to be stored within.... sigh

These are like 2x the size of a standard tool system box but unfortunately not as tall. A circular saw is too tall to fit. The boxes feel nice and sturdy. The drawers are pretty nice but I've seen the 2 drawer ones jam a bit at the store.

I like the size though. It can fit some bigger jigs.

umm, these aren't for storing your $150 black and decker starter kits. pipe threading kits cost between $1800 and $4000 for a single tool and a half dozen attachments. powershift core drills go for $3000. these are the type of boxes you buy so that if someone drops some bricks on them, the tools inside would still be ok.

i can't speak for other people, but i bought my dxl stuff at ace because they had 25% coupons that worked on these. HD was blocking coupons from being used on these at one point, and HD's coupons are only 10%. acme also had these at 20% off at different times. kinda stupid to pay full price if you don't have to.

and if you guys think these are expensive, wait until you find out about milwaukee packout rack kits. they start at $750. go to $2000. a single shelf without the cabinet to put it into is $200

Sorry, just saw your reply. It's was in 23453. They sold out within an hour. Some HD stores haven't put them on clearance yet. If you check the HD app there will be a clearance tab that will give you that store's discounted price if they have them in stock. If there's no clearance tab then it's probably still at full price. I'm waiting for a few more to go on sale.
