My store ran out of the purple Daytona on the last deal and they let me preorder one at the sale price. They called me 10 days later for pick up.

Is this too much for the casual oil change and car repair? I'm an average joe who works on a mini van from time to time and maybe another car once in a while. Is there anything cheaper with the same convenience or is this good for the price?
The biggest drawback about this jack is heavy 80lbs. Costco in store do sell aluminum/steel Arcan or Dewalt, which around 55-66lbs from time to time.

i'm new to working on cars, all i want to do is rotate my tires on a 2 tesla cars (3 and Y), would this be enough? Thank you!
Can confirm this gets under a 23M3. Like another poster stated, you'll need 2 for a tire rotation. Also, why not just take your Tesla to Discount Tire where they rotate them for free (YMMV)?

I wonder if these will last longer than the 5090s did on launch day?

These jacks are phenomenal. And at this price it's a no brainer. However, I have given this one away when I replaced it with an aluminum jack. If you're in your 20's-30's get this. It will last you a lifetime. If you're older I'd wait for their aluminum ones to go on sale and get those.

You laugh, but in my twenties I was changing shocks on a truck and was on the last nut on top of the last shock, when my freaking WalMart jack let loose and dropped the entire thing on my hand. My hand was stuck, they had to find another jack to get it at least part of the way up so they could get my hand out. Several surgeries later I just have one of the fingers that's still deformed the others are basically normal.

That said, I trust this $100 jack more than those small 3ton ones.

I just checked the HF parts page and they don't have replacement seals for this jack. Which is by far the most common failure on floor jacks. With only having a 90 day warranty they should at least have seals for it.

Superficially,

Daytona = four colors
Pittsburgh = gray

Daytona = square saddle with rubber pad (which reviews have shown to be rather thin and flimsy)
Pittsburgh = slightly larger round saddle no rubber pad (but plenty of 3rd party options available)

Daytona = slightly beefier gusseting at rear wheels and larger transverse brace underneath

Both built to PASE standards

Internally, in lieu of actual evidence that the Daytona has better hydraulics, we can only assume that they're the same, given the minimal price difference. HF, or its actuaries, express the same level of confidence in both models, with identical 90-day warranties. Gotta step up to the Super Duty for something longer.

The frame of the Daytona has some small upgrades, but the Pittsburgh isn't some outlier from jacks in general and isn't going to fold like a cardboard box under stress. Both are rated at 3-tons.

Or put another way, the difference between the Pittsburgh jack and the Daytona jack isn't going to be the same as between a Pittsburgh ratchet and an ICON ratchet.

$100 for the Daytona is a good deal, and cheaper than it has been for a while. The Pittsburgh isn't on sale, so there's not much of a debate.

Both models are on display in stores, so take a look and see what you eyes tell you are different.
This guy jacks it!
But seriously, this is a stellar post. I just needed to know about how much buyers remorse I was gonna have considering I bought the Pittsburgh for roughly the same price as this maybe a month ago? Anyway, thanks!

Honestly, I prefer a lighter floor jack since I already have the long reach version of Daytona jack. But for $99, I bought it I won't need to carry one of those jacks in the car all the time, I am not a mobile service man.

Already have three different Pittsburgh jacks or I'd be all over this one

Is the Super Duty jack worth the price increase over this one? I'm a pretty heavy home user. I feel like I'm working on stuff every other weekend and I wouldn't mind adding another jack to my garage.

In lieu of this jack, does anyone on here know if HF will be putting their Daytona Long Reach - Low Profile 3 ton on sale this week?
