My store ran out of the purple Daytona on the last deal and they let me preorder one at the sale price. They called me 10 days later for pick up.

You could buy ramps, which is what I use for oil changes
Yes, I have ramps but need something better than my jack for changing brakes and other things that keep popping up which require me to remove the tires. My current jack requires a pry bar for a handle which I keep losing, and a pair of the vice grips to twist the cap and purge the air out to lower the jack. It's a process 😂. Thank you everyone for your advice. 80lbs is a beast! I think I may get it.

You will be glad you have this vs cheap lifts! Easier to use, safer, saves time. Great for tire rotations (either use with a jack stand or another floor jack), low and high clearances. A must-have for multiple car maintenance.

Yes, 80 pounds is crazy. I've looked at their low profile long reach jacks and they're also crazy heavy. It often doesn't lift high enough on its own, but the aluminum jack is all I can handle post back surgery.

FYI Austin North sold out in 40 mins. 22 people in line at opening, per store manager.

Edit: they had 25 in stock total

I would definitely not recommend this or the long reach version floor jack. They are heavy as hell. I have the long reach version and I said to myself, well, this is going nowhere but stay in my garage. The low profile version is 80lbs. I can still lift it occasionally, but I will give it away in 10 years, maybe 5 years. You don't want to pay the medical bill if you hurt yourself by lifting it

How do these compare to the "extra long reach" version? Hoping to wait for another deal on that since I have a pretty low vehicle
this reach is 19-20" while long reach goes above super duty at 24 " something.

I bought the long reach during their July 4th sale. If it goes on a similar sale, do you think they would honor the new price or would I have to do a return and buy again?
yes they would since it is less than 30 days. there are many flavors of daytona jacks make sure it is the same. I had bought one for $199 long reach but then they had a 40% off sale on daytona jacks and had to buy n retrn with old receipt since I was past 30 days.

Nope. the Super Duty [harborfreight.com] is the "Snap-on Killer." Note that it also carries a 3-year warranty, vs. 90-day for most of the rest. $100 is a very good price for this Daytona model, which is usually priced about $30 higher than the Pittsburgh LP 3-ton, which itself has been as low as $90. This is one of the better sales. The two are very similar, and either would be fine for someone who needs a jack. Keeping in mind that the purpose of floor jacks is to lift things, not hold them up, which is tasked to jack stands.
I prefer both, let it lightly rest on jack stand with pressure still up on the jack, if either fails the other one still supports. I have a different model of this and like it. A few reviews said it fails but did not for me and use it like I said. Rino ramps for 90% of my jobs though.
