Or a warrantied open box Zotac 8GB 4060 OC for $247.

The Solo (non-OC) will only use 110-115 watts.

The 4060 openbox were $225 last black friday though.

As long as you have a decent CPU, yes. Intel GPUs need relatively performant CPUs to achieve their full potential. Which CPU do you have?

At that price range...The 9060 8GB may be a better deal....
There may be some limited cases where the 12GB helps vs the 8gb....
But the 9060 will be a much stronger card overall.....

Also Intel's commitment to the dGPU market is in question....so continued driver support is iffy.
This would have been a killer deal a few months ago before the drop in prices.

This video compares various old and new mid to low GPUs on the newest Unreal Engine 5.6 Paris.
Includes the Arc B850 12GB and even an RX580 and GTX1650...

I agree, personally i would just spend extra on an Nvidia card. Less hassles with driver support and someone will buy the card off you when its time to upgrade.

Disagree with this. 8GB cards need to die and the market shows that people are slowing down their purchase of them massively (GamersNexus did a video on this recently). Given today's world, the demand of VRAM is ever increasing, so if you want a card that is worth a damn at all in the future, the more the better. I would hesitate to even purchase 12GB cards, as the 3080ti I'm running is running in to limitations even today, but they are still better than an 8GB card overall. Now if you swap to the 9060 16GB, then I'm all in and all on board.

As far as Intel's commitment, I don't think they are in any danger. If you pay attention to media outlets like GamersNexus and others, Intel is committed to carving out their niche but first wants to solidify their software so they avoid debacles like their initial launches of Alchemist. The demand for Battlemage has shown that they can indeed carve out a market share and steal from AMD though.

[QUOTE=bulldog1986;The demand for Battlemage has shown that they can indeed carve out a market share and steal from AMD though.[/QUOTE]

With Rounding...Intel is at 0% of the dGPU market...(Down from a peak of about 1%)
And even at that level, Intel is not making cards to meet that demand.
They are losing not gaining market share...

If you want a 16GB Card....Go for it...but will run you about $370 vs the $270 I linked...close to 50% more.

The games and resolution needed to cause issues with the AMD card are likely to cause issues on the BattleMage card....which needs a higher end CPU already because it offloads due to its limitations...So you will already be dialing back the card.

If all you have to spend is $260/$270 for a Graphics card....The just no way I go Battle Mage with the current entry level AMD/NVIA cards at the same price. I would have considered then this current generation of AMD/NVIDIA were going for $400-$500 for entry level.

If you have the money for 16GB....I would go for it....and recently there were deals were the upcharge was only $50, but as of this post...its closer to $100.....

No one should be buying a 8GB card anymore.
