Based on the latest available performance data:
Intel Arc B580 12GB is on average 20-35% faster than the AMD RX 9060 8GB in most modern games at 1080p.
At 1440p, the B580 stretches the lead to 40-60% faster due to the extra VRAM and better scaling at higher resolutions.
In ray tracing, the B580 is about 25-40% better, especially when using XeSS.
In older DX11 games, the gap shrinks, with the B580 being only 10-15% faster or sometimes on par.
Simple takeaway:
1080p = +25% B580
1440p = +50% B580
Ray Tracing = +30% B580
If you play mostly 1080p esports titles, it is closer. If you play modern AAA games or use 1440p, the B580 is a noticeably stronger performer.
The Solo (non-OC) will only use 110-115 watts.

The 4060 openbox were $225 last black friday though.

At that price range...The 9060 8GB may be a better deal....
There may be some limited cases where the 12GB helps vs the 8gb....
But the 9060 will be a much stronger card overall.....
Also Intel's commitment to the dGPU market is in question....so continued driver support is iffy.
This would have been a killer deal a few months ago before the drop in prices.
8gb should not exist in today's world. Devs are lazy as hell and rely on vram and upscaling/frame generation far too often. 8gb cards just cant hold up with modern games.
On a side note I highly recommend almost everybody check out optiscaler. It can bring new life into even low end cards, plus its free.
