This is a flat jaw pliers for more like nuts and bolts while cobra has angle within the jaws for like round pipe.

Sweet. Deal is back at Home Depot too with faster fulfillment, but they'll probably run out of stock sooner.

What's the difference between these and cobra sets?

Ever have a button-top screw with a stripped Phillips center and you can't turn it and you can't seem to get your pliers to turn it either. This will, amazingly, grip that little farkin' button tight and let you turn it. This happened to me, I was thankful I had one of these.

The reason it works so well is because it presents pressure (levered strength) on the opposite sides of the button head. Pliers don't, they're angled etc. Totally counterintuitive solution!

They're usually called "pliers wrenches". They act more like a crescent wrench that actually works because you can put good clamping force on it just by using the pliers. Crescent wrenches (adjustable hammers) have their place sometimes... but these are much nicer when you can use them!

I definitely recommend having a Knipex Cobra or two at home, and if you like them, then this is a good investment.

They make locking crescent wrenches and a lot less expensive than these. https://a.co/d/84hJnJw

I would recommend a Vamplier brand or the equivalent and less expensive Engineer brand pliers which are specifically made to remove screws. https://a.co/d/66lrnpI

Knipex makes very nice plier wrenches. Wish these came with their redesigned comfort grip handles.

Yep, and that's probably a handy tool for someone who needs it once a year. Smilie

If you're using them regularly, the Knipex would be my preference.

I think locking Crescent hammers are quite a bit better than the regular ones for not coming loose, but then you have the clamping mechanism to use every time you need to reattach to the fastener. The Pliers Wrench actually is designed to open up enough that you can get a "ratchet" effect when you rotate backwards that actually works well. The harder you press on the wrench the tighter it clamps. It is a really good design, and there's a reason that professionals like them so much.

Nice. Too bad I didn't have one when the pliers wrench worked so well in a pinch!!
