This is more for sprinklers on tripods and fixtures or the faucet so there's less weight hanging and less twisting the pipe etc.

I bought a female to female coupling for a couple of dollars and I can use any male & female end hose to connect to the reel. The female and female hoses seem to cost more than a couple of dollars than the male & female hose.

You will get dissimilar metal corrosion between the brass spigots/faucets and aluminum hose fittings. If you looking for a leader that is going to be installed and left in place for any amount of time, match the metals that you will be connecting.

Is using a thick tape (blue gorilla, I think) and a lot of it help? they would barely made any contact.
