I've had this exact printer since 2016 and it's never had any issues whatsoever. I love it, highly recommend if all you typically need to print are occasional black/white docs. My family prints like 10-20 pages a month. Recently though we had to print a few hundred and I thought it may finally let me down in some way but it powered through without any problems. I think I've replaced the toner 2 or 3 times since owning, whatever the cheapest brand was on Amazon at the time has always worked fine.

Needed a nice little duplexing machine for my home. Didn't want inkjet or color. Perfect for the small amount of printing I do. Website says it comes with a 700-page starter toner cartridge. Probably will last me 3 years lol.

$64 shipped to my door. Great deal. Hopefully refurb doesn't have any issues.

I have the older model( non wireless) and have had it for years. Super solid machine. Typically use it 20-30 times a year and it's flawless. Toner is cheap on Ebay and drum/toner packs are cheap as well. This is a fantastic deal and if mine wasn't still working perfectly after six+ years I'd pull the trigger and upgrade to the wireless model.

Note that they don't make drivers for Mac which is fine for normal printing but will not give the advanced settings you will probably want if you are a crafter looking for a good foiling printer. This is great for that but I have to use my gaming PC for those projects.

These brother laser printers are the best when it comes to toner price and overall cost. I started out by getting my 1st one around COVID to scan all the homework stuff to upload. You can buy generic toner on amazon all day long. Just don't update the firmware on the printer. That's Brother's way of locking out generic toners. The 3rd party toner companies figure it out, and then come out with updated chipped toners that work though eventually.

I've sinced purchased about 5 used ones on facebook and offerup (there is a screen on the printer settings page that shows how many prints the printer has had in its life in case you want to go that route and want to get an idea of the condition of the printer) and gifted them to other families. I even got a color one at home I got for $150 used that I haven't even had to change the 4 toners for abour 2 years already.

Brother laser printers, can't go wrong!
Quick note, the D at the end of the model number means duplex printing, and the W means wireless. Try to always get a W one!

I just checked and my printer it is at 7,402 copies/prints. I'm probably on my 4th-5th toner (about $20 each or less) and the original drum says it's at 42% life left.
