I have this , bought from eBay work refurb item for $17.

This is OK to use very light weight boxes. No for think boxes.

I thought my efforts will be less and much quicker with this but in practicality it's NOT

we need to apply pressure to move the scissor. Based on thickness Iof the box it needs that much pressure. It gets struck in the middle and to be removed and continue

I now moved back to my old style cutting with sharp knife which now I feel easy and simple

Importantly the charger is their proprietary plug so if we lost it no way to use. I don't like this but keeping it safe and handy

May not be your cup of tea but if you want a tool that will destroy all boxes and more, its a much better investment.

I dont remember where this one scored with project farm on YouTube, but it wasn't bad. I have the harbor freight one and it works well for cheap. These are a must if you deal with a lot of boxes.

Yeah his review is why I went with the harbor freight one. It works very well and it was a low price. The best one was impossible to find at the time. The Skil I think.

This one's 4v and the HarborFreight is micro usb and they work noticeably better than the Ryobi one with swappable batteries and usb c.

If you are unwieldy with a box cutter or snap-off knife, this is a safer way to trim cardboard but not more efficient.

I use a 12v cutter in this style to cut low-pile carpet. Even the 12v can bog down easily in any material (cardboard included) if you push forward too quickly.

Same experience but I'd add it is a godsend for opening up those plastic packages that I'd scuff my hands on. I sometimes still use it for cardboards that are taller than 4 feet because I can stand and cut down.

I really like the concept of this tool, but this model in particular is irritating because you have to engage the safety every time to turn it on.

Like I was telling the other guy, I was on this journey and came up with my own solution that I never see shared and it works so good for me I will never use anything else.

The bigger and stronger the box the more it tears right through.

This cutter being sold in that thread would choke on thicker material.

If say keep a regular box cutter around for the thin stuff that is super easy to cut.

Been using this tool a lot more often recently with different blades.

Was a life saver building our shed and for some home improvement tasks..

So I think owning one is great as a tool in general, the box cutting thing as just a hack I came up with that worked so well that it's my go too now.
