I have this , bought from eBay work refurb item for $17.

This is OK to use very light weight boxes. No for think boxes.

I thought my efforts will be less and much quicker with this but in practicality it's NOT

we need to apply pressure to move the scissor. Based on thickness Iof the box it needs that much pressure. It gets struck in the middle and to be removed and continue

I now moved back to my old style cutting with sharp knife which now I feel easy and simple

Importantly the charger is their proprietary plug so if we lost it no way to use. I don't like this but keeping it safe and handy

May not be your cup of tea but if you want a tool that will destroy all boxes and more, its a much better investment.

4th, his review said it was a great tool but felt underpowered cutting through mdf.
$80 skill was his #1

Nice, thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick up some oscillating tool knife blades.

I have this and I do have to agree that using a box cutter is quicker and more efficient.

quite frankly this one is kinda trash, specially cause you have to press a button to activate the trigger. Buy this from Target instead: BLUE RIDGE Rechargeable Rotary Cutter. this is way better. also blue ridge is USB type a versus a random 12v charger this worx one has.

At first I was skeptical of this product for the same reason. But then it was mentioned that it may be more effective when space is limited so cutting into matching uniform pieces may be ideal. Would you say that is the case?

The bigger and stronger the box the more it tears right through.

This cutter being sold in that thread would choke on thicker material.

If say keep a regular box cutter around for the thin stuff that is super easy to cut.

Been using this tool a lot more often recently with different blades.

Was a life saver building our shed and for some home improvement tasks..

So I think owning one is great as a tool in general, the box cutting thing as just a hack I came up with that worked so well that it's my go too now.
That's awesome. I need more uses for my oscillating tool. It basically sits in a box 24/7.

Exactly how mine was, it came in a combo kit with some other tools and I never used it for anything.

Now I got a few different blade types for it, and in some situations it's now a favorite tool.

Like cutting off a bolt/nail with this is way faster, easier and safer than the angle grinder I used to use.

I have no idea how people are talking trash about this for regular boxes. I get a ton of stuff in the mail, and this tears through them like butter. I got mine refurbished over a year ago, and only (sometimes) have issues with the reinforced thicc boxes I rarely bring home from Costco, or if I hit multiple layers of tape or something like that. If I've used this on 500 boxes, then I've had issues with maybe 4 of them. I've recommended this particular model to a number of people at this point. Guess I'll have to check out the HF one if this ever fails.

I'll definitely never go back to a regular box cutter/utility knife for boxes.

These are not as effective as it feels like. The blade derails a lot then end up spending more time.

Yeah his review is why I went with the harbor freight one. It works very well and it was a low price. The best one was impossible to find at the time. The Skil I think.
This brand, the H/F or whatever are really handy things to have. 25 bucks is a really good deal.
I went out and bought the H/F one also. Works well for my use case. When the video came out I was recuperating from Bicep Tendon Distal surgery. They sew the torn tendon together, drill a hole in your forearm, stick it through the hole and attach it to a metal button. The cardboard was building up. 3+ months after the surgery, I'm allowed to bicep curl with a one pound weight in P/T. Yeah, one pound. In the real world, the arm can do more, but I'm following the process.

I have one and I use it all the time, pretty much exclusively on cardboard boxes. It's nice and powerful for what I need it for but have not tested it on harder or stronger stuff but I don't think it's that powerful that it could handle that at least for long periods anyway.

I'm gonna have to agree with a lot of the comments here: Don't get this for cutting down cardboard. I got a similarly designed one, and it regularly gets stuck mid-cut even on lightweight cardboard. I ended up going back to my trusty box cutter, and it was way easier.

As an alternative to scissors, it could be good, but I feel like it's kind of overkill, and takes up a lot of space in a junk/utility drawer.

For cutting through plastic blister packs and zip ties, it's hard to beat the zibra open-it. I got it on a deal posted here like a decade ago, and it's been one of my favorite and most-used tools ever since because I buy too much stuff posted on slickdeals.

Oh snap. Are oscillating tool heads universal by chance?

AFAIK I have three different tools and they all use the same blades.

Some have slightly different mounting holes, but the blade's are made to be universal.

For the most part, but there are a few exceptions. There is a chart here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...NF32B&th=1

Wow, never knew I needed an oscillating tool. Now I just have to keep an eye out for a deal, thanks
