Low voltage or signal wires. I usually strip these by hand since insulation is so soft, but I'd get this if I had to do a thousand wires.

They're useful for small wires in computers

Ethernet cables. Lineman's low voltage. They use lineman's scissors over these. Much faster when doing miles of data center cables.

I have two sets of these, the Red/Blue handle for data cables (RJ45 jacks for example), and a Yellow/Black [kleintools.com] one for electrical work.

Love how sharp the cutting bit which is super sharp and superior to any CAT5/6 cable tool for aligning the 30AWG wire in a ethernet cable fit in the RJ-45 jack.

I have these and they are very nice quality for very tiny cable. To be honest though the Knipex 12-16-180 are my fav wire strippers and get used more than anything and they are automatic with length measurement. It does 10-24AWG and even with ethernet cable any new install these days should be using CAT 6a unless you need the slimmer Cat 5e for dedicated camera runs or something. Both of these should use 23 to 24awg though so you should still be covered even though some could use thinner wire.

In reality for the vast majority of people you will most likely not be using anything smaller then 24awg so I think the Knipex automatic ones I mentioned above are a better buy.

God bless you if you have to strip individual ethernet cables!

Thanks very much for calling that out! They look so similar to the regular ones I almost bought without reading!

Exactly. I didn't notice this when I ordered it. I'm returning it. I don't need to strip individual cat6 wires.

Ive used these for an electronics project, building a device with off the shelf parts. fantastic for the 24-26g. wire in the parts. very comfortable to use for a couple hours at a time
