Note: uses Phison E18 controller. Download the firmware update tool [pny.com] and make sure it's up to date. Not too sure about the firmware being fixed or having the issue in the first place so it's a gamble.

How much better? Does it improve any real life use cases?

Like 1% of people 0.001% of the time, depends how you will use it but then you'll need cooling heat sink. Generally not worth the premium but this is a good price for 2tb w dram

For heavy read/write situations, it's faster. In systems that do not have HMB support, i.e. old OS like Windows 8 or as a USB drive, DRAM can be significantly faster. In systems with HMB support, regular OS usage, web browsing, and gaming will see little benefit.

Once your drive hits 60% of being full it starts to really matter. And when you're copying a ton of small files to it. Like thousands in one shot.

It should ,says it comes with and optional heat sink but not sure if it will fit under the hood because it looks pretty thick height wise
