I've taken apart the S5, S5 Max, and S7 MaxV Ultra.

It's 5 screws to access the battery, and the wheels. The wheels are 2-3 screws if I remember correctly and are drop in parts.

There's one screw with a piece of white tape on it.

Clearly you've never taken one of these apart, these are very simple to dissemble and reassemble and there's always plenty of videos on how to do so.

So you literally posted in here just hearsay?

Get out of here man. Such a waste.

Rumor mills are accepted on truth social...that's about it.

You must be the most guillable person around.

This brand is literally top 3 in an over 50 brand consumer product.

Like when only a narwhal is your competiton you need to worry about....you are doing pretty good in robo vacs.....

I just recently got a Q7 for $240 as part of Amazon prime days. I haven't used the mop function yet. The vacuum is quite good and the room mapping appears to be very accurate.

I believe the Q7 is better overall and not just because it's newer. It's quieter than the G32 ever was ,cleans the carpets better and hasn't gotten stuck yet - the G32 tends to get in bad situations. I will be buying more Roborocks in the future.
I bought the Q7 Max on the $140 deal earlier this year for my in-laws in Japan, and the mopping is great with the larger tank. It can do the whole 1600+ sq-ft apartment (all wood flooring) with some juice left in the tank. The suction is quite good as well. I think these are good prices for folks that want the auto-emptying docks

Exactly. I took mine apart with no video... very simple. Just a few screws, remove the bottom. Then you can see the battery and brush motor. Remove some fur that got built up. It could be taken apart further if needed. One screw at a time and take photos if you can't remember how things go. This fall I'll have had Qrevo for 2 years with no major issues. Minor issue was clog in the fresh water line causing leak into the dock. A reddit search found the solution was run some vinegar through the dock. Then recently it kept giving a main roller jam despite cleaning. Found there is an extra little piece on the end that can be removed and was full of fur/dust. Some simple maintenance and research will solve most problems.

My original roborock is 6 years old. Had to take it apart once to clean it deeper. Still working with no issues when I gave it away. Researched a lot before deciding which to get and they have only improved since then. Roomba seems over priced and more about the "name". Sure they pioneered it but haven't kept up with features for price.

Q5 max+ is pro+ without mop attachment. You can just detach it and they are identical. Don't pay more for pro+.

Have you? I don't own any of these to take apart. Maybe you could share some videos because I can hardly find any. Most only show basic maintenance (bin empty, roller cleaning and replacement). The few I have found shows you having to take out a gazillion screws on both the top and bottom of the robot just to get to a wheel replacement for example. And I think even the one I watched the wheel was basically attached to the chassis. I even see "security" screws on some videos that are probably used to void any warranty. Not a good look.I have had a roomba 560 for 13 years that still works perfectly after replacing drop-in parts from ebay or irobot over the years. The modularity of those bots is amazing. Would these Roborock last as long? From reports I see online and in videos, doesn't look like it.Granted, irobot bots are vastly overpriced considering the features they have, I just like my stuff to last.
I changed the battery and it was super easy.

I wish they'd sell their maxv series though the ebay store, I haven't seen any. Looking for the best obstacle avoidance.
same the s8 maxv is supposed to be a significant step up from the s8 max and the s8 pro ultra, and it's on sale at Amazon for $800 new. the extra $300 might be worth it

I don't understand why everyone here likes this brand so much. I looked up how repairable they are and they are about as unlikely to be repairable as any other cheap Chinese brand. All the parts are put in with a gazillion screws and wires, with you needing to take the thing almost entirely apart just to replace a specific motor. At least iRobot parts are all modular so you don't have to buy an entirely new vacuum bot every year when a wheel gets stuck.
I've had mine for 5 years and I have a Samoyed so this thing runs twice a day. I had to replace a motor a couple years back and it was no big deal, it came with the motor and whole wheel assembly. Parts are readily available on Amazon and AliExpress. This year I replaced the 5 year old battery which only took a couple minutes. In general the cleaning performance, pathing, mapping, object detection is better than anything iRobot has.
False. I have repaired my S5 three times (lidar motor, roller motor, etc) easily over the years. It is still working.

I replaced a motor and wheel on an S6 pure. Wasn't that hard. Just used a YouTube video to figure out how to disassemble.

Personally I don't like self emptying because it requires more maintenance if something gets stuck or breaks. It's not a big deal to empty the bin once a week.

My revo had issues and nobody could repair it not even the insurance company dealers so I lost taxes and insurance premium within a few months.
Same! I was fortunate to have additional insurance, and they reimbursed me. I had to send it in for repair twice and it couldn't get repaired!
