Among enthusiasts, the TAC AA is known as a "pocket rocket". I own several and have never seen them priced this low. (I've purchased from Acebeam's AliExpress store several times and have never had an issue. Shipping usually takes less than a week.)

Only the black version and blue version are available in the US. (Not the red or orange versions.) Note: The versions have different LEDs, and different beam profiles.
  • Features of blue version: SFT-25R LED, cool white 6500K, 900 lumens, beam distance of 360 meters. (Choose this one if you're looking for a tight, bright beam with a massive throw.)
  • Features of black version: TN LED, cool white 6500K, 1000 lumens, beam distance of 280 meters. (Choose this one if you want a wider beam with more floodlight.)
Comes with a rechargeable 14500 battery (but is also compatible with AA batteries), USB cord, lanyard strap, two-way clip (works on hats), two rubber diffuser caps (very handy), two spare o-rings, and a user manual.

Full list of features:
  • 6 programmable modes so that you can program the light functions according to your needs.
  • 4 brightness levels, Strobe, SOS, meet your lighting needs of multiple scenarios
  • Compact size makes it easy to take anywhere
  • Operate with a single, easy-to-press tactical tail switch
  • Dual fuel design, powered by an included 14500 USB-C battery, compatible with a standard AA battery for use as a backup
  • Two-way clip and tail standing capability for various conditions.
  • The included diffuser caps (white, orange) can transform your light into a reading, signal or emergency light.
  • Stainless steel strike bezel ideal for self-defense in case of emergencies
  • Anti-slip knurling provides a stable, reliable grip
  • High strength and impact-resistant HAIII hard-anodized anti-abrasive and corrosion-resistant finish
  • AL6061-T6 high-quality aluminum alloy can withstand 1.5-meter drop test
  • IP68 Dust-proof and Waterproof Rating: fully submersible to 6.5 feet for up to 30 minutes

For the 2-AA version, this comment says
"The stephenknightphotography review of this found that this model has issues with thermal step down, making this light potentially dangerous. "

What about this one?

That's a great question. I'm not familiar with that particular reviewer, but the reality with most flashlights that use modern LEDs and drivers is that they all get hot when left on turbo too long. That's why they suggest only using turbo in bursts. (I have a Convoy with the new LHP73B LED and a 20amp driver, and you could cook an egg on the head of it if you leave it on turbo for more than 2 minutes.)
I own several TAC AA and TAC 2AA lights. I don't use them on turbo for more than a few minutes. They do get hot by then, but (IMO) not any hotter than the average modern light.
1Lumen and ZeroAir do in-depth flashlight reviews and lab testing. I scanned their reviews for the TAC AA but can't find any mentions of thermal stepdown issues:

I haven't had thermal issues on either of mine (one is tn and other is the 25r). I think the 2aa version is better value than the aa 2.0. Similar internals but you get double the battery capacity while not being that much longer. The aa 2.0 is kind of big for an aa flashlight. I also find the two buttons on the 2aa makes navigating the UI easier.

The S2+ is a great light! I have a dozen + Convoys, but the one I was referring to with the new LHP73B is the M21B. (It comes with an actual burn warning.)
The S2+ has an 18650 battery, so it's larger and heavier than the TAC AA (14500), but likely has a longer run time. As for the beam, it's hard to compare without knowing which emitter is in the S2+.

Love the 2AA -- it's really nice to handle. They're both great deals right now. You can get both in matching blue SFT25Rs for less than $30.
