I guess it's on sale because it's as far away from the New Year resolutions as possible?

Last week I bought another Mikolo, the M7, from.... Temu of all places. I was going to order from WalMart but Temu had it even cheaper, albeit without listing the brand name or showing any logos in the photos (apart from photos of the instructions). I only found out it was available from Temu from discussions on reddit from others that took a chance on it. It showed up in 2 days and was 100% legit. Wife and I have been using it for a week now and it's pretty solid. Needs to be bolted down, for sure, so I've got it bolted down to our olympic platform. For the money this thing absolutely can't be beat.

Mikolo stuff isn't commercial grade, and it's definitely not the best in the world, but this is so cheap it's worth giving it a shot.

Here's my Temu M7 setup (Mid-organization, so there's stuff all over the place):

Got this brand in a different setup without the smith. Not a fan of the on rails barbell feeling. Has everything this has minus the smith. I benchpress sets with 225 lbs and the machine is solid. Had a different 2" setup that wobbled like crazy if I didn't re-rack the weight very gently. This one has no wobble and the front feet stick way foward to avoid tipping.

Definitely bolt this to the ground still!!!

I recommend the brand based on my experience.
There are usually deals for bumper plates on here. I got a few sets and they store on the machine well. Also grab yourself some adjustable dumbbells and you have a very versatile home gym to never use!

I have the m4. I really like it. It is cheaper on temu. You can get the aluminum pulley pack (18) off Walmart for $90 shipped too. I would get this over the m7 if you plan on using the smith. The M4 has a hook and pins. The m7 has slots in the rail. The slots can be difficult to hook, especially if you are close to failure. The m7 has a foot plate for the smith bar so you can lie on your back and do leg press, and I think a seat that hooks on the rack. Otherwise the same.

Their are indeed bumper plates deals and if you want to do dead lifts or anything that requires dropping the weights on the ground, get bumpers. Otherwise I'd recommend getting steel plates for a few reasons.

The M4 pulley system is 2:1. Meaning if you want to use 100lbs, you have to stack 200lbs. Bumper plates are thicker than their steel counterparts. So you will be able to fit less plates. With steel plates you can also put the smaller plates in the second and 3rd storage horns on the left and right side without the outer pulley horn weight stack knocking into them.

They are also, imo, easier to handle, especially then ones with a lip or handle holes in the weight.

You can use the pulley trick to get it to 1:1 with ~$50 in parts.

If your ceiling is low, you can invert the top pull-up bar to get more clearance without affecting it's operation.

I did two other quick hacks. I replaced two of the top bolts with longer ones so I could dock the smith bar higher when not in use (this is not load bearing, just to dock the bar itself.) This allows me to dock the bar and easily walk under it without banging my head on it.

I also put a bolt through the eye hole on the smith bar hook. This limits the rotation back to ~30 degrees or so. Otherwise it rotates nearly 180 degrees and can be awkward trying to rotate it back when you need to dock it.

There is also a near identical clone on temu except the pulleys have both ends terminate in the handles. Meaning you can chose 1:1 or 2:1 easily. If I had to buy this again, I'd get that one.

Also keep in mind, the m4 pro 2.0 is about to be released, and it has weightstacks for the pulleys with weight horns to add more weight if desired, and the pulleys can traverse longer as they raised the height of the posts.

*edit* Actually, it's out, with or without weight stack option:

Get a 1" pin with loop and put it in the rack under the pulley. Hook the pulley to the loop. Get a climbing pulley like this
https://a.co/d/fh29Jai
Attach it between the pulley and the pin. Hook your climbing hook to the climbing pulley along with your workout attachment and pull that for 1:1.
