This is an excellent sander. Just be aware that Dewalt sells expensive adapters to hook it up to a standard shop style vac. However, there are many cheaper knock-offs available online.

This one is wired. You can buy a wireless version (tool only) with $89 from:

I prefer the wireless one for mobility.

ace has it for 79.99, if you are a member and use the $15 dollar off coupon it is cheaper. I rather buy at the ace than the zon. Besides, my ace always has clearance items and it is my duty as a slickdealer to always investigate.

I prefer the corded to the cordless. I sand for hours though so constantly changing batteries would suck. I don't even notice the cord about 90 percent of the time, until it gets stuck or I need to unwind more cord off the 100 foot reel.

Which of the knock-offs can you recommend?

Great thanks for the info. Unluckily I have $10 off coupon only just checking in ACE app.

Devil's advocate: For sanding you should generally be hooked up to a shop vac / dust collection anyway, so for my money you might as well go corded. The battery also adds a lot of weight so if you'll be sanding for any length of time, your arm and shoulder will thank you if you go with the corded one

That's a different model (DWE6421 at Ace is a single speed vs. DWE6423 here is a variable speed).

No problem. I was definitely interested in what you posted for potentially less and they look exactly the same so it's hard to tell.

Thanks for the post. Been debating about a corded vs cordless. To avoid drama, ordered this Dewalt. Don't have to worry about dead or weakened batteries. Plus 1/2 the price of a cordless sander.

This is the gold standard of random orbital sanders under $100. I bought this at full price about 6mo ago for sanding my project car and for various woodworking projects, and it was one of the best tool purchases I've made. This is an incredible deal for the price, and wished I had bought this years ago instead of a cheap 1/4 sheet sander.

Here's a comparison video by 731 woodworks: https://youtu.be/RSTjVXI-B8g?si=5_dQ0h9Im4-urvPZ

When paired with the best new sandpaper "3m extract" (not the regular Cubitron by 3m) and hooked up to a vacuum/other dust collection, the setup tears through material.
