For people interested, there was a wave of foldable, "flip" retro handhelds over the last year or so, all going for the GameBoy Advance SP form factor. Of all of them this is in a lot of ways "the best" one. The form factor is great, the buttons/controls are great, the screen is pretty decent... EXCEPT the quality of the hinge mechanism, which works pretty well when it works, but has terrible quality issues and tons of people have had their hinge break. So this device has had a love/hate reception in the community. Plenty of people are still getting it because if you get lucky and your hinge is fine, you get what many think is the best SP style handheld out there. However plenty of people are avoiding it because at ~$80 full price, it is a big gamble to take, plus the fact that many don't like to support the company who seems unbothered with launching/selling devices with known quality issues.

Not super enthused about this one. I love my Miyoo Mini v4, but foldables of this price tend to have terrible hinges. With Miyoo in particular having some of the worst hinges in the market. Heck, the first batch of Miyoo Flip V2 had a ton of hinge issues which I'm still not convinced have been fully resolved

P.S. perhaps add the word "retro" to the title, I'm probably not the only one with an alert setup for "retro" + "handheld"

Not super enthused about this one. I love my Miyoo Mini v4, but foldables of this price tend to have terrible hinges. With Miyoo in particular having some of the worst hinges in the market. Heck, the first batch of Miyoo Flip V2 had a ton of hinge issues which I'm still not convinced have been fully resolved

V2 has a lot better all metal hinge. It was v1 that had all plastic hinge which felt cheap.

Oh my, that's the cheapest price I've seen for the Miyoo Flip by far. However, unfortunately, the unpredictability of the hinge's longevity makes it a no-go for me.

I recently bought one and just returned it today. It was stuck on the boot screen and none of the possible fixes worked. Quality control seems to be an issue. Now I guess I will test the refund policy of Ali Express.

I bought plenty of things from Ali and never has trouble returning stuff. Some seller may push back but for the most part Aliexpress stand on buyer side.
