Getting a used one of these delivered tomorrow. My aunt and uncle have this and the ice maker died and is unrepairable. I don't use that so I don't mine and its free before delivery. Great looking fridge. I always liked the freezer on the bottom best, most efficient thermal design. I would buy this new if I was looking. Its been a good unit minus the ice maker issue. Not sure why the repair people couldn't fix the ice maker. Something about what broke is not available for repair parts.

Samsung yes - but LG too? I thought LG has great reviews. CR rates them very highly.
I've never had an LG but the 'bad compressors' rumor has really stuck online. I don't know if it's true anymore or if it's just an old rumor that won't go away.

I am dealing with a bad compressor in 2018 LG fridge. Part is replaced by LG, but I have to pay for service, which is $500+. It seems like LG changed the compressor after 2022 models, so this shouldn't be an issue with this model. But you never know. I'm looking to buy a fridge anyway, and I like Samsung Bespoke models for their looks, but they have so many issues. Will probably get this on Labor Day and move my current one to the garage after it gets fixed.

Stay away from samsung refrigerators.... unless you also buy a 10 year extended warranty.

Stay away from LG and Kenmore as well, especially if they have the linear compressors.I have a GE profile (much older side-by-side model), I think on average I run into some issue with it once every 5-6 years, other than that it runs solid.

I talked to a supervisor at PSE&G appliance support, he said to go with whirlpool and that he personally uses all whirlpool appliances at his house.

It did happen but they supossedly fixed the issues awhile ago. I have an LG and I still worry as any inverter compressor, not just LG, will not have proper oil return all the time. I do HVAC Commercial and that's the biggest issue with VRF is compressors dying. Every brand can't figure it out and compressors die and die often with LG being far the worst followed by Daiken and Mitsubishi being the best. My LG fridge is around 5 years old and been fine, but I also clean and blow out the condenser minimum once a year which helps some.

This reviews very well. Price is great. They deliver to me. But in MA, tax free weekend starts August 9. Is it worth waiting and hoping deal lasts 11 more days? Savings is $130

I am dealing with this exact same thing within the past 48hrs. LG doesn't have any official service nearby so I get quoted $850 to fix the compressor and whatever

Is this better than the OP? Any advice against it? Like the water and ice access from the outside. A little bigger and a little cheaper, too.

Got mine today and very happy with it so far. No water line hookup unless it's literally right there. And even if you're within 8 feet, my installer refused as the 1/4" hookup was below my floor

It seems that Costco doesn't offer extended warranty on refrigerators. Where can I get one, let say a 5 year warranty?
