I got one about a week ago from Walmart as a Wi-Fi only phone. It's Wi-Fi 5 and 4G only. You have to update it to Android 14 which is the last version update it'll get. It uses 2gb of Ram Boost by default. I just left that setting as is. The only apps you really have to keep are Moto and Device Pulse. All the other bloatware can be disabled or uninstalled. The phone is fast and the battery lasts a long time. I don't turn it off. I wouldn't use it as a main phone but as a backup for Wi-Fi only and other tasks, it's good and fast.
If you have a phone farm for various DePin projects or whatever else, this phone is suitable. My only complaint is the fingerprint sensor is located too high up. Other than that, the sensor is fast. The speaker is loud. The phone doesn't freeze up or close apps when confronted with too many apps being open or when playing music. But don't push it, obviously.

You are talking about two different things. You can no longer do a COMBINE when you have two active lines and need customer service to combine them to one line. You can still do a HARVEST when there is only ever one active line. You activate the new device with a transfer of service clicking on "keep my number" and everything moves from you current line with the year of service/minutes/texts/data added on. Then, you can repeat the process moving back to the original device (either immediately or after 60 days if you want to ensure the unlock). A harvest can be done entirely online without involving customer service.

I can't believe you can buy a brand new decent smartphone for $25. Whatta time to be alive. Too bad I can't think of a reason to get this.

I've been using Tracfone's $25/year plan for years, with my unlocked Samsung Galaxy. I'm almost always within Wifi, Google Voice for talk/text. My plan I just renew harvested has 2 GB and 5k minutes and 5k texts. So my usage is within the plan's limits.

I don't really use my phone as I'm a PC user and I just need a basic plan.
Do you have a link to the $25/yr plan? Thanks.

My question too; I see a $125 plan. Was it a typo? If not, I presume they don't offer it anymore.

Give them to charity and take a tax deduction??
I have been wondering about that. Once we have harvested plans from these phones what are best practices in donating or selling these devices??

I'm not one to ask since I've never sold anything on line. If I could use the tax deduction, I'd do that. Maybe someone could use a phone for Google Voice.

I received these two phones today. Surprisingly there were two 5,000 mAh power banks included in the package along with the two cases, two car charging cables and two A/C charging blocks. A nice unexpected bonus on an already great deal.

Why should any CS time be required?
I know, Right?? More failure modes than one could imagine. The phones don't activate. They can't find them in their system. Some kind of manual override is needed. Where did you buy them? No rewards for the purchases? Can you call back tomorrow our systems are down?? Mind if I transfer you around to five different people for the next hour??

Absolutely not! No issues at all Unlocking with Tracfone..No fuss like other carriers who want an arm and a leg to unlock and that too only if you have been with them for 100 years!!!Have unlocked more than 10 tracfones so far
Glad you had good experiences. I'm also speaking from first-hand experience with a nearly identical Tracfone deal.

It's for throwing $50+ at already-rich-as-all-tarnation telcos for a device that you can barely use. They manufacture a "need" for a "spare device" or some nonsense like that. How DARE you ever get caught without a cellular mobile phone in your hand? Imagine what terrible wrongs you'd have to endure, facing reality without dopamine shunted directly into your skull cauldron via your eye sockets. Did I miss the mark?
Miss the mark? Lol, you're not even in the right area code. Better to be silent and be thought a fool that to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

Yes, we get it, the Tracfone model doesn't work for you. But for most of the people who use and understand Tracfone and have buckets of minutes/texts accumulated over the years, extending their plan for another year for $50 is a bargain.

Since you keep wasting our time in the Tracfone threads, I'm wondering if you spam the monthly plan deals as well, telling those people that if they are paying for unlimited minutes, but only using 100 minutes in a month, they are paying for something they are not using. And if their plan resets every month, they lose the data they didn't use by the end of the month, even though they paid for it. I'm sure you could come up with some nonsense analogy to highlight the waste on a monthly plan.

Enjoy spending more every month than what I spent for a year.
