There's no official designation, but protein isolate generally means 90% protein by mass or more. This "isolate" is only 80% which, while high for protein powder, doesn't meet the colloquial standard of 90%.

2.2lb for $40 + shipping ($48 total) is not a deal. Costco has their 5.4lb bag of powder for $50 with 71% protein which should be a baseline to compare protein powder deals against.

This "deal" is $0.0601/g of protein.

Kirkland's is $0.0309/g of protein, half the price.

The Amazon S&S deals from a few days ago for 1.8lb tubs of protein powder were even cheaper. at $0.02/g.

I've ordered the passion fruit flavor recently and it tastes pretty good, the peach mango one was the first one I tried and it's good but has a bitter after taste for some reason, passion fruit doesn't. I wonder how the others taste?

Damn that kills the deal for me. I have the lemonade one and it's pretty good. These foam up like crazy so you have to wait a few minutes for it to settle.

Clear can't really be compared to traditional isolate. People pay the price premium because it's a literal standalone drink mix and more calorie efficient. The juice consistency also goes down better than a traditional thicker isolate shake.

That being said. I rarely buy clear because of the price premium. It's like a treat.

Exactly. The price for clear is a deal when compared against other clear proteins on the market. Comparing this to the Costco protein is apples to chocolate. Costco isn't selling fruit flavored protein. You are paying a premium for the flavor that generally isn't available unless it is clear.

No, I am referring to the Kirkland brand of protein powder. Neither that nor the Myprotein here is actual isolate if we want to to use the term as it defined by the vast majority of sources on the topic.

Since this is slickdeals, I assume that most people looking for protein powder deals are interested in getting the most protein for their money. For them, this post is far from ideal, or even the norm, in terms of cost effectiveness.
