I honestly think everything is a roll of the dice nowadays. Most companies nowadays (not all) cut costs in one way or another and most times that's going to lead to quality issues. I believe Osprey recently changed owners and thats where we see these cuts most of the time. That being said, I do believe Osprey has one of the best warranties in the business, so you have that to fall back on if there's an issue with the pack. I ordered the arcane wool pack from this sale so we will see how it stacks up against my older osprey packs. I say go for it and hope for the best!

I think the Samsonite GSD is a better deal . This Osprey is a no go for me because there is no luggage band at the back.

I just used Osprey's AMG and sent in my 10-year old Nebula 34L - the mesh was starting to fray from chafing and just wear and tear from being a legit EDC that has been all over the world. Shipped it back to them (at my cost), they said it was beyond fixing, and offered me a brand new Nebula (now down to 32L) that was shipped to me by 2-day FedEx after I chose the color I wanted. I have 3 Osprey bags of differing sizes, and as long as they backup their product, I will add to them for my family needs.
that said...this design looks YUCK. If they had the grey or orange, yes.

No back support. Basic backpack. Might be worth $49, might not.

The Nebula I got 2 years ago is really well made. Totally different tech than my all time favorite Kelty bag from the mid 00's, but it seems to be holding up really well and it wins in comfort. Unless they made big changes recently, I'm sure these will be good packs.
