Zip through that for 2 weeks and you'll crush the test no problem. I have ham and GMRS licenses. Ham can do a lot more, GMRS is easier.

I always see Baofeng deals and I always get excited and say now I will buy one, after reviewing the functions and seeing there is one that's better, than another than another, I get exhausted and overwhelmed, and then end up not buying because I miss the deal.

According to this, 5R doesn't have FRS+GMRS, or Aircraft AM RX and it's 128 channels.
It's $30 with a lot of goodies that I am not sure most people can use, and if people are Pros or know what they are doing, they might get something more advanced.
Compared to UV-5RM PLUS, which has FRS+GMRS, and it has Aircraft AM RX and it's 999 channels with a bigger 2500mAh battery (although I understand above deal comes with expanded battery)
Are all those extras worth the price, or are these features really important? Can we just buy the wireless programmer for others because that really looks like something useful.

I have a few different baofeng radios and they are cool but unless you want to do a lot of sifting through YouTube, random geocities looking pages, sketchy software and programming cables, and rants on Reddit, there are much easier ways to do GMRS.
And these radios throw out harmonics like crazy.

I personally like to keep all the harmonics I can, so be careful which HAM you purchase. IMO: Iberian jamón is the best.
