It's "ok." Cheap protein, mediocre quality. Only 66% protein (Optimum and others are 75%+), and a TON of cholesterol. 35% of your daily in 1 scoop is wild. Also much high calories, Optimum is 120 vs 180 (if you are watching calories). Good price, but also getting what you pay for with this. NOT saying don't buy it, but realize what you're paying for is all (a lot of fillers). A few bucks more will get you a name brand, good quality product.

Costco or Sam's club rotisserie chicken is the cheapest price for protein you can find. $4.97 for 3lb of chicken.

I bought this the last time it showed up. It's the cheapest whey powder on the market when looking only at $/protein. For me, the fillers are actually a plus since I use this to supplement and flavor my unflavored soy protein isolate, which tastes like death by itself. The added fat and flavorings of this powder make the soy protein not only bearable but almost downright pleasant. I use half a scoop of this for one scoop of the soy protein isolate.Your warnings are correct and valid, but for those seeking the absolute cheapest whey protein (when considering price/gram), this is pretty much it.
100%, not judging anyone. If cheap is important, this fits the bill. Just have to eat around it better, with higher calories and cholesterol.
Just pointing out you can get something better for not much more. $11.94 for 1.78 pounds (for the chocolate) is roughly $6.71 per pound. On sale if you have a Costco membership (or know someone who does) you can get a 5.64 pound bag of chocolate Optimum for $49.99 usually twice a year, or $8.86 per pound. Only talking $2 per pound for a much better product (and from what others said mixing and tasting; cant speak myself to that).

And because of smaller scoop size (weight), 1.98 pounds of Optimum is 29 servings; basically 1 month (this 1.78 is only 18 servings). So roughly $4 more per month (2 pounds worth) if you use a scoop a day. And I totally get it, if you dont have $4 it is what it is we've all been there, but your body is worth $4 a month more; trust me from someone over 40 now. You eat this and 1+ eggs, you are over 100% your cholesterol for the day. You dont want heart problems later in life over a few dollars a month.

Myprotein also seems to make a decent product and you can get that cheap on sale too. But buying 2 pounds or less, other than to try a flavor, makes little sense for cost saving usually. If you buy a bulk amount you can get something way better for about the same price per pound.

so what do you recommend, oh nutrition wizard?

Why be a jerk???? That's a mind blowing level of just needlessly ignorant rudeness to what....make you feel better??? They simply pointed out some downfalls that many regular people wouldn't notice. Like INSANELY high cholesterol level. But since you asked for advice- Dymatize iso-100 is about as pure as it gets. Then again for YOU - maybe buy the sale stuff and drink up, bud. Cheers. Should pair well with 3-4 ribeyes and a pack of smokes, daily.

Plus the convenience factor , u can leave your shaker cup w/ 2 scoops of powder in your car or back pack for many hours , unlike rotisserie chicken

I bought the strawberry flavor and actually like it a lot. It's hard to find a good deal on strawberry. I normally buy Optimum Nutrition chocolate or Orgain chocolate so I was a bit wary of going for a budget brand but this was not bad (at least the strawberry flavor). I mix with 8 oz of skim milk.

If you need/want pure whey protein, try the bulk section at a Sprouts - of course now it's like $25/lb when it used to be only about $11/lb pre-covid. Damn how times have changed.

a whole chicken will have about 184g protein or $0.027/g by my math, this protein (66% at $6/lb) should be cheaper at $0.020/g. Additionally sams chicken breast at 2.68/lb ~ $0.019/g

Also a rotisserie chicken will come with a ton of fat, some may see that as 'free calories'. But as a pure protein source to achieve macros it's kind of awkward especially as people eating protein powder are typically trying to limit fat in favor of carbs. Whole food is great, but someone bulking might not want to eat as much and in that case protein powder is better, and comparatively priced

Fatty beef is better and has more nutrients.
