This was $100 cheaper just a few days ago, with the 32GB/1TB upgrade being this price. So, how is this a deal and getting upvoted?

Would assume the "tax free weekend" he's referring hasn't started yet. In Florida the back-to-school sales tax holiday starts August 1st and runs for the whole month. Covers computers up to $1500 and pretty much anything computer-related. For a list of tax exempt items see below:
