My costcos in NM that generally get botanical sets instead of the cool ones recently got the japanese maple. I'm guessing that's the alternative we're getting for this one, unfortunately.

The house rule is when given a 3 in 1 you don't get to start a new set until you've completed a build of all three designs. This house rule has been a bit harder to enforce on the Technic 2 in 1 where the alternate manual is online only, but has generally been accepted. Admittedly few of our builds become static models - the yellow Jeep is one but it's been falling apart after years of play, and another Technic car has similarly gotten a short reprieve from near instant disassembly. I take it this might be controversial these days?
