FWIW... I grabbed this laptop today. I bought online and went to pick it up and messed with the display one for a bit before grabbing mine. It really seems like a great laptop. The screen is great. If the battery life is decent this will be great machine.

Also, when I was checking out I opted out of the free anti-virus download. At that moment in the checkout process when I removed that the price dropped another $50 to $549. Something also said something about a BestBuy discount but I was checking out as a guest so I really don't think it was specific to my situation.

For $549? 2-in-1 with an OLED 600nit screen? 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD? the Ryzen Ai 5 processor (which outperforms some of the i7 and A7 chips? I think this laptop is a great deal.
Not sure there is a better package out there for under $600.

Also, this morning I tried to get Lenovo to price match and they would not. Identical machine (in fact, I could by from Lenovo and pick up at Best Buy!)...Their reason.... because the deal is different because Lenovo offers a free 3 month membership to XBox Ultimate and Best Buy only offers 1 month free. Literally the only difference so Lenovo denies price match because of that detail.

I don't think it had anything to do with the anti-virus. Various users are getting a targeted offer (I was one) for $50 off select Windows devices $500+. It's good for 24 hours-only once activated. You may or may not see a banner towards the top of the screen (on desktop browser, not mobile) that shows the offer.

I have used/seen a lot of OLED screens on laptops and this is the first one that did not look clear to me. Could be it's relatively low-res from what I'm used to, but even the initial Windows Startup screen, there was a white button on a blue background and I could see a purple fringe on the lower side of the button. Once in Windows with a black background, white text has more color fringing on the edges of each text letter than I'm used to. I'll have to use it more to see if it's normal. I've got a Zenbook with a 1200p OLED screen, I'll do a side-by-side.

This vs the Dell 14 plus with core ultra 7, 2.5k non touch screen (300 nits brightness). Which one would be better? That one comes to $629 with coupon and $100 credit with Amex. So brings down to $529.

Which would be better in what ways? Seems like only you know if you prefer a touch OLED screen or not. If you don't need touch OLED then get the cheaper option.

Fresh install with a USB installer. I'll probably get a USB adapter anyway so I can use the 500 GB drive that's in it for something. I'm a little bummed I can't seem to find an SSD in this size with DRAM.

Think about it -- it's a physical restraint. There isn't enough space on the tiny single-sided PCB to put everything they need for a cached SSD with 2TB capacity.

FWIW, after messing with this laptop for a few days I really love it. Very responsive, like the keyboard, and the screen is very nice. Keeping an eye out for a deal on a pen for it.

For those on the fence, I thought it was a good deal at $599 for the 2-in-1, OLED touchscreen, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, 500GB SSD, etc. At $550 even better, but it is still a good deal at $599, IMO. Go for it.

This or MacBook M3 16/512 for $650 in Used like new condition with only 2 battery cycles and 5 months warranty still left? First time Mac buyer that is still in return window. Any expert opinion? I've heard Macs stay consistent in performance for years unlike windows.
