I was excited that these were vegetarian, but then I noticed that they contained biotin. Many may consider this a pro instead of a con, but be aware that biotin can interfere with both blood work for thyroid hormone levels and the blood work ERs use to determine if you've had a heart attack. At least one person has died because their blood work was inaccurate and they didn't receive proper care in time after having a heart attack. Anyone taking thyroid medication risks having their dosage prescribed inaccurately, based on inaccurate blood work, if they take biotin. It's really unfortunate, since I could really benefit from the effects of biotin and this is a good price for vegetarian gummies.

Per chatgpt : Yes — what that statement says is true, and it's backed by FDA safety communications and medical literature. Here's the breakdown:✅ Biotin Interference with Blood TestsThyroid tests:Biotin can interfere with immunoassays used for thyroid function (TSH, free T4, free T3).It can cause falsely high or low results, which can lead to incorrect thyroid medication adjustments.Heart attack tests:Many emergency rooms use troponin tests to detect heart attacks.High-dose biotin can cause falsely low troponin levels, which might make it look like someone isn't having a heart attack — when they actually are.🚨 Documented RiskThe FDA issued a safety warning in 2017 about this issue, specifically noting at least one reported death where high biotin levels caused a falsely low troponin reading, delaying treatment for a heart attack.💊 Who's Most AffectedPeople taking 5–10 mg/day or more (common in "hair, skin, and nail" supplements) — much higher than the 30 mcg/day RDA.Thyroid patients: inaccurate results can lead to over- or under-medication.Anyone who needs urgent ER testing (e.g., suspected heart attack).📌 Bottom LineTrue and important: Biotin can make lab tests dangerously inaccurate. If you take biotin, tell your doctor and lab before blood work. Some doctors recommend stopping biotin 2–3 days before testing (or longer for very high doses).

Note this supplement has 30mcg biotin, not the 5-10mg that was associated with risks above
