No, it wasn't. That was a completely different model and specs: https://slickdeals.net/f/18481585-asus-rog-strix-g16-16-fhd-165hz-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-hx-16gb-ram-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5070-ti-1tb-ssd-eclipse-grey-g614pr-g16-r95070ti-1550?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arelevance%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse

Still a better deal bozo

Not if you want a good screen which the Best Buy deal didn't have. CPUs are similar enough, this one is a bit faster on single core, twice the ram (whatever 50 bucks), but it's not a desktop, no real path for most users to just upgrade the screen down the line and 300 nits 1920x1200 is pretty mediocre.

Matthew Moniz put together a video comparing the AMD vs. Intel versions of the laptop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaPoif3Hobc
The difference comes down to little things. And Matthew Moniz opinion is for the Intel version. But, since the AMD version is now a bit cheaper ($2300 for the Intel verison today at Microcenter, this is $2050 for the AMD version), that can play into your value decision.
The Intel version was $2000 during Prime Day, but yeah, sorry, I don't have a time machine: https://slickdeals.net/f/18435448-prime-asus-rog-strix-g16-2025-16-2-5k-240hz-ips-rtx-5070-ti-intel-ultra-9-275hx-32gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1999-99
