Seriously. $1499 education with apple card 3% you save 44.97. Airpods bonus is 179.99. Total saved pre tax 224.96. This deal is a savings of 24.04. Now if you live in a sales tax free state (Missouri's is coming up this weekend) you will save on on state and local tax. Hoping this deal will be active this weekend.

These upgrades appear to be worth the delta, but the question is: are they necessary for someone who doesn't actively code anymore, no LLMs, no video editing?

I'm in the same boat. Currently I'm leaning toward the 15" MBA as I'm guessing that extra screen real estate would have more real world benefits than the rest. That said, I'm going back and forth and still undecided.

the screen is that much better on the Pro that makes the Air a no buy

forget about anything else, a laptop's most important feature is the screen, it's what you will be looking at all day - at this stage Macbook Air's screen is not in the same ballpark (done by Tim Crook on purpose) as the Macbook Pro

As you mentioned the speakers are 3-4x as loud and clearer at higher volumes if that matters.

Only reason to buy an Air would be an insane deal

Have you been following the price of MBA lately? It's been going down like $50 every other week. Somehow that's not the case with Pro models.

it's like asking red or blue. everyone's use case and priorities are different. Though know this is NOT the M4 pro. it's the same m4 found in Air.Compute wise, the only difference will be extended demand when processor is being utilized at max, then the pro will be cooler
