For $700, to allocate $$ for decent Dolby Atmos capable receiver, one will have to sacrifice too much on speakers and vice versa.

I'd further argue that most people will not place things correctly to notice the atmos. Even more people won't even have atmos capable media.

You also wouldn't need a Dolby Atmos setup.
A 5.1 will easily outperform this soundbar in quality.
You're not actually getting a true Atmos immersion on a soundbar, it's simulated.
It's more a selling point than a true representation.

Even upfiring Atmos modules speakers are not ideal in a traditional setup.
On a soundbar they are minute woofers, physics tells you they can't produce the same sound.
It's just a technical simulation, not actually immersive sound.
If you have actually heard a proper setup, it's painfully obvious.
I can tell you with $700 I could definitely put together a decent used 5.1 that would be a more accurate immersive surround than this soundbar.
Let's not forget what content a soundbar is often used for, it's pretty inferior quality.

I'm just pointing out that you can't debate the very thing YOU said is an irrelevant debate!
You agree upfiring(Atmos) speakers are not ideal but on a Atmos soundbar they are somehow a pretty good compromise!
You go on to say this Atmos soundbar is more immersive than a traditional HT system!
This silly irrelevant debate always shows up!
Ultimately it comes down to a simple question.
The importance of quality, if it's high/highest then you go traditional.
Keep in mind it comes with work to get it.
If it's not or the work is too much trouble, a good alternative is a soundbar.
Especially if you stream most of the time.
A traditional setup does not fix that content.

Annoying because it was put on the porch partially - half the box under the porch, the other half sticking out into the elements.
Called Samsung and they sent me another one without any hassle! Great customer service.
The replacement sounds amazing and was easy to connect to my LG 77" G3 (which I got a slickdeal on last year!)

That one is $1,000 at the moment, is it worth it to spend $300 more for the F version?
