BTW, unfortunately this is not for PC. It says it's for console only. The PC version says "Standard Edition - Windows." Kinda bummed out. Edit: Nevermind, it says it's also for PC in compatibility details.

Had to pick the right version in the Xbox app but the GET button did appear a few minutes ago. Says I own them now. I also have Gamepass and made sure I chose the GET button not Install.

Got the games from the Xbox app. Why is it marked as expired? Expired already? If it just expired, I consider myself lucky to have gotten this awesome deal.

The games launch but they don't let you play once you install them them.

If anyone else subscribed to Game Pass is confused about how to get them, this is how I did it -
  1. Open the Xbox app on your PC.
  2. On the home page itself, you will see both the MW games today. Click either of them.
  3. It'll take you to Windows version of them, with the title having "Standard Edition (Windows)" at the end. Playable on section will say "PC" only.
  4. You'll have a green button for "Install" and a grey button for "Buy". Don't click either of them.
  5. Instead, click the first item that shows under "Included in this bundle".
  6. This will take you to the xbox version (or play anywhere version, I guess). The title won't have the "Windows" part, and Playable on section will say "Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming".
  7. Here you will have a Get Free button. Click that. Go through all the confirmation steps.
  8. Afterwards, under the "Compare Edition" section, you'll see this edition is marked as "Owned".

Though I am a little skeptical that these are full games. Just today Activision decoupled these games from their main bloated CoD Launcher. So I have this spidey sense feeling that these are just those separated launchers for those two games, not the full games themselves.

Has anyone, who is not a game pass subscriber, been able to claim these for free and then play the games?

I don't know. I'm too lazy to install it. Someone else will have to answer the question but if it doesn't allow you to play the game, it likely won't work for us either.
