Firmware or not, it's totally unacceptable to HAVE to access the internet to manage your network. I made the mistake with a set of Deco 6's a couple of years ago. I ended up using them for an "untrusted" Wi-Fi network behind my pfsense box. All visitors and IOT devices go through that mesh (mess). I could care less about those devices and my LAN is totally isolated. Never again with such junk.
