I know it's tough to be labeled a naysayer, but I really do appreciate these comments on these pre-builds. I built a pc over a decade ago and feel too out of the loop to do it again.

Biggest issue with prebuilts are normally PSU, motherboard and RAM (in that order). If I'm building a nearly 2k system I'm getting a quality PSU for it, and with this it's almost certainly bottom of the barrel.
Got a Legion pre build and 4070 super had adapter to only one vga from psu, was at the power limit and gave black screens and pc unresponsive from time to time, ended up buying a new psu. Motherboard was locked so ram upgrade is limited to low frequency and bad compatibility.

I've never purchased a pre-built but I wouldn't disparage anyone that bought one. It may seem simple to someone who has built a pc before but after helping multiple friends build its easy to do it wrong. Also having a warranty from one vendor as opposed to one for every component, which you also will have to figure out which one failed makes a lot of sense to me.

No information on the motherboard or cooling solution. 5200MT RAM with no info on the CL. 1TB SSD. Probably a cheap non-modular PSU.
Prebuilts are so bad. People should either take the time to learn how to build or just buy a console instead tbh.
Lenovo prebuilts are solid. Mobo is most likely a proprietary MSI board. The factory CPU cooler on my 11700k system has been good. No issues. RAM is most likely Kingston Hyper.

Or they just don't know how to build one themselves so they overpay for junk. You get a good GPU and CPU and maybe a good case but the rest of these parts will be bottom of the barrel junk. People leave so much performance on the table by not building one themselves. Those are people who quite frankly don't need a gaming PC.
they can also just buy it for 3D work you know...

i'm struggling to justify building a PC myself if this thing can be had for $1500ish between the BofA deal and AMEX. It's well over $300 more to build it myself before taxes. Anyone who has this, how is the experience?

You shouldn't because most of the above comments are trolling, but yes some have been helpful.

Eh, tbh, they're leaving max maybe 5% performance on the table. Faster RAM really makes a fractional difference in gaming. Same with NVME drives, since you'll see essentially zero difference in gaming performance between even gen 3 and gen 5 PCIE NVME drives. Drive brand barely matters anymore, since most of these companies are using SKHynix, WD, or HP NVME drives already. Motherboards/circuit boards in general are all pretty much built to a min spec, so as long as they have the same chipset you're not REALLY making a difference (usually just features). Sure better Caps and VRM modules and better heatsinks can help with heat and technically operate more efficiently (which really helps with overclocking) but realistically we're talking .0X% of any performance difference for those who are not going to OC their CPU. A tower air cooler is a tower air cooler - again, if you're not OCing then you're really not going to need anything special.

The only real benefit to building is picking the parts you want and being able to swap your motherboard or PSU down the road while re-using the case. I don't know anyone who does this anymore when by the time you need to get a new motherboard because your socket is no longer compatible with current CPUs, you're usually ready for a different case anyways. Even I'm ready to build in something different, and I've only had my Hyte Y60 for 3 years!

Thanks for the heads up on the Bank of America link. Brought me down to $1526 pre-tax and then I also got the 10% CB offer. Plus, don't forget about the Lenovo Rewards! I'm getting $93 back there too. Pretty solid deal in my opinion. Added two year premier on-site warranty since it was only $65.
I did not add any warranty but good to know . I think regular price to add after the purchase is $75 for two years and I was hoping to use the Lenovo Rewards for that.

do the bofa & R deals actually stack since they both are referral links?
Not sure , this is the first time I am buying from Lenovo direct. Will update here if it goes through or gets denied. Samsung / Dell have worked in past using EPP / Education links.

Shoot, didn't think of adding it after the fact. I think it takes 30 days for the Lenovo rewards to appear. Didn't even know you could do that.

Oh well, I will be able to find something to purchase for sure at some point especially accessories wise.

Will try and let you know too. Not the end of the world if it doesn't since the B of A brought it down well past the $1708 price anyways.
