A capacitor charger is better technology.

Not exactly. A lithium jump starter can be used immediately, no waiting for it to build up charge, can be used to charge devices like your phone if needed, and does not need a battery to have any voltage to jump start a vehicle.

Most people recommend if getting a lithium jump starter to have a boost feature though. And of course there's negatives to lithium jump starters too. Imo for most drivers having a lithium battery jump pack and a pair of jumper cables is the best option.

EDIT: Not sure the one in this post is any good though. In addition, Project Farm tested one of this brands jump starters that claims "4000A" and it didn't seem like it would even start an old V6 ranger engine, which is definitely not as big as an 8.0L gas engine they claim it can jump start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlK7UWHD3sY . This price or less is really too low for anything good.

I didnt like regular battery charger as it's a ticking time bomb, esp. in hot weather. To top charge it every few months, thats alot of headache.

Capacitor are build for a quick discharge just to turn the motor, that's what it is great for. It takes whatever juice you have left in your existing dead battery (assuming it is not totally dead!), charge in 5 mins on your capacitor charger to recharge that same dead battery again! Yes you heard this right.

Capacitor cost more, well worth it.

Capacitor chargers are garbage. You need a flux capacitor.

I've had Harbor Freight lithium packs in our cars and they've been great. I just checked on one that hasn't been charged in well over a year (maybe two) and it was at 50%, which is enough to start a car.
So I charge them at beginning of winter and that's fine for the season.

I got this today. Note that the box is labeled to look like a completely different version of this jumper thing, so I thought they sent the wrong thing. Turns out the jumper inside is right, the box is wrong. Also, the box is labeled as 3000A, vs. the 4000A that this posted jumper is advertised as. So I googled the part number printed on the jumper itself, and I can't find the manufacturer page to find the manual, specs, etc., and I found listings for this same jumper (same pics as what is inside the box and posted here), and they advertise it as 3000A. I checked on the stats because this thing is super light (14.7 oz on my postal scale), and I expected it to be a few lbs considering the number of battery cells (even li-ion) needed to do what this thing is supposed to do. Maybe they are all like this? I mean, it is <$30 so I didn't expect much, and disconnecting the battery in my car is a real PITA and screws some systems up just to test, so not really worth it. I guess I will just charge it up, chuck it in the trunk, and hope it works if I need it.
