seem like a decent deal for this. you probably wont have the option to buy these new much longer with the switch 2 and all. mine worked perfectly. didn't have any issues with it being an international model

I recall on prior threads there were warranty concerns with an international model in the US. Can anyone clarify?

Used market is littered with these at the moment. Still a great console, but if you're alright with second-hand these are crashing as it seems OLED owners are the first to upgrade to S2.

You can buy this and play Switch 1 games at low framerates and low resolutions while missing out on all future Switch 2 games. Or for $160 more, you can play all Switch 2 games plus all Switch 1 games at higher framerates and higher resolutions.

Don't be daft. The Switch Oled is obsolete and worth about $119 new now that the Switch 2 is out.

I paid $199 at Costco a few months back for a Bran New one came with 1y switch family online a case and 256gb micro SD which sold locally for $20 since I had a 1tb. So I paid $180 all together. My buddy Is an electrical engineer so he modded it for me because I picked one up for him also at the same time so I got two of them. This thing is amazing! Modded. Can just toss on any game I want. There's a few games that don't work properly because it's on a older system update, but I kind of wanted it on that for modding purposes. I think the only games I can't play are splatoon 3 and like Tony hawk Pro skater 3 and 4. But basically every other game works from flawlessly. One day I'll update my system when there's better support for modding on the newer updates.

I fully agree its well worth paying a bit more to play the games coming out for the next 10 years. The main benefit of buying a previous gen console like the ps4 or xbox one is the games are far cheaper... but since that's not the case with switch it doesn't matter as much.

Where you are not helpful is you aid all switch games at higher framerates and resolutions. That's just not true, there's a handful that have been optimized but many play as is. Just commenting on that since that may affect someone's purchasing decision.

Depends on the individual. That $160 still allows you to buy about 3 games before you get to the Switch 2 console and you're really not missing out on any ns2 exclusives yet.

If that user hasn't played BOTW, TOTK, Metroid Dread, etc, they will still enjoy those games on the 1

Nintendo will not cover international models for parts and labor, even if you pay.

DK Bonanza just came out and you can argue that the improvements for the Zelda games are substantial enough that playing them on the S1 is just far from ideal.
Plain and simpe, the S1 is just really not worth it at close to $300 entry point.
