You can get a pci-e riser card that acts like an expansion slot for additional m2 drives.

Pretty good deal. But I'm not jumping in until it's under $200. Hopefully by Black Friday?

Technology advances man. I bought a 1tb 960 Evo in 2017 for $500.
Anyway, I bought 4 tb 990 Pro for 220 last November and 180 like 2 weeks ago. Deal seems meh at best.

Who knows? SSD prices are pretty flat since last year. With the glut of inventory that formed, manufacturers have reduced production, gen 5 hasn't been a real banger yet, inflation, tariffs, who knows what's going to happen.

2TB version of this SSD keeps dropping every few weeks. It's a good drive but 4TB needs to be closer to $200 like the Crucial T500 was a couple weeks ago.

Can't you use google?

AI Overview

While they aren't yet widely available, advancements in NAND technology and controller design are paving the way for higher capacity M.2 SSDs. Specifically, Tom's Hardware reports that Samsung's upcoming 280-layer QLC flash could enable 16TB M.2 SSDs

Few more years. The market for 16TB at current price will Be very small. There needs to be much more cost reduction in prices before 16TB will be common.
If you want larger drives you can buy 16,32 even 128TB enterprise U.2 drives.. prices will be in thousands of dollars easily averaging over $100 per TB
