Not worth it. Total sucks. Customer service hell if something goes wrong with the deal.

If interested in this then do similiar deal at Verizon Prepaid for 256gb iPhone 14 Plus for $50 more. With Verizon Prepaid no ID verification(I think) and second month can downgrade to $35 plan and no porting requirement.

Verizon prepaid iPhone 14 Plus 256gb @ $250 + 95(two month service - first month 60, second month 35). Then also have 512gb variants for 300+95

Ai is a bubble, ai on iPhone is a joke. This phone is not much different than the latest model. Maybe a little slower, but it's not a big deal for most people.

IPhone 16e with one month service is $170 on boost and don't have to worry about this ID verification nonsense and iPhone 16e is better than 14.
I don't understand how people are getting excited about an old basic phone

Thanks, just wish it was regular iPhone 14 instead of iPhone 14+.

Here's a link to said deal for my fellow SD'ers, hope this helps:

You buy the phone for $200. Verify ID. Their cheapest plan is $40/mo. You'll pay as low as $20/mo for 10 months. Hopefully jump ship to Visible by then. $200 for an iPhone 14 doesn't seem too bad.
Is Visible that much better than Total Wireless? Are all TW phones throttled down or non-prioritized?

Sign up for a Gmail account then request a Google voice number using that Gmail account. Google charges $3 to allow a number to be ported out.

I think it is more of the following (excluding tax scenarios), 10 month savings:

200 (iPhone) + 60 (monthly plan required) x10 - 20 (discount promo) x10 + 60 (additional month for logistics) = $660 to get this deal….

It's not that simple. Google Voice now requires a linked working phone number. Maybe there are workarounds, but they are all in the gray area. So if you or your friend has a working phone number, use that to request a GVoice number. It's free, but, as said above, porting out is 3 dollars.

I think the plans are better and you don't have to verify ID. Also, I've racked up 8 referrals this year so far for a savings of $160. I just wish I switched sooner from paying T-Mobile $66/mo.

If someone is set on a $300 budget for a new iPhone that unlocks in 2 months, why not? You can always get more if you spend more. Some people have budgets to stick to.

Performance wise, its probably just fine as long as you aren't downgrading. Apple doesn't make "budget" phones so it doesn't suffer from the same issues you'd see from Android phones, where you have Low, Mid and High end phones. Low end phones are generally garbage right out of the box. Mid end phones are usually fine for at least a couple years. High end phones can easily be fine for 5+ years or until lack of OS support forces you to upgrade.
