With this bundle the 1-year Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack is only $25 rather than $50, and it allows you to get free access to the enhanced switch 2 versions of BoTW and ToTK along with the expansion pack for Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing (you need to already own the Switch 1 versions of those games to get access to that content). Those all range from $10 to $25 on their own. Additionally, you get access to classic NES, SNES, GBA, N64, and now (exclusively on Switch 2) GameCube games. Note that after downloading you do not need to be online to play those games.

Of course, it includes the benefits from the standard $20 Nintendo Switch Online features like online multiplayer and cloud saves.

For me, flawless emulation of those games is pretty nice and worth having the subscription for alone.

Sorry that wasn't clear... I already have a family + expansion. The individual code is useless for me.

Got mine on launch day and don't know what to do with the individual membership code. Wondering how much trouble it would be to try to sell it off for cheap.
I sold mine on Facebook marketplace for $40 within just couple of hours of listing. They venmo me the money and I sent them the code.

You don't "get" them, if/when you leave NSO+ they go poof
Sure, that's true with all the old console games. It's a service, it's implied that the upgrades are tied to the service. Luckily they are backwards compatible.

I will wait for the Switch 2 Oled. Nintendo made the first version with LCD to make it won't sold out, but once you get used to OLED, it is impossible to go back to LCD

Off topic a bit here-I have the physical version of botw and totk. Can I get the upgrade or do I need to buy a whole new one
Yes, you can. That's exactly what I have, physical copies of the Switch 1 version of both botw and totk. Just had to go online and download the upgrade packs on my Switch 2 after I had an active sub to NSO + Expansion Pack.

Ah I see now. Thank you. Would you say it is worth having it? I wouldn't say I'm an avid video gamer. Would probably play on occasion.
Yes.
Having switch 2 without playing online will not be a good experience e.g. Mario Kart Online/Smash Bro's online.

So the additional $5 for the expansion pack is worth it. Since the original one is $19 without the expansion pack. The expansion pack will allow you to pay a lot of retro game free of charge (As long as you maintain the expansion pack subscription). So its a good one to pay $5 for one year but if you think next year its not worth it, then just go back to the $19.99 individual online subscription.

YMMV, but my Capital One Shopping pushed me a 24% Cashback at BestBuy for their Switch 2. Makes it ~375
Same here. Though I never used it before. From what I read, you can only redeem for gift cards? Are there any gift cards that would be able to used at stores like Walmart or target for essentials? Looking in the app, it doesn't allow me to see.

This bundle was $500 at launch (Costco w/NSO). Still a good "deal". Like paying MSRP for a 5000 series GPU is a "deal" these days.
Incorrect, Costco price has remained the same since launch. 525 then, 525 now.

Ymmv. Frankly you shouldn't bank on it, really. It's more like a bonus. Sometimes for GCs they have eBay (not currently) sometimes Lowe's or Home Depot (again, not currently). Right now I have $200 on there and the most useful thing in could redeem that on is either a Groupon or a Hotels.com gift card.

I guess if you plan to shop at Victoria's secret, Omaha Steaks, or some other very specific retailer then you can truly maximize those savings.

Thank you for the detailed answer. While it's a bit disappointing that you're fairly limited to certain gift cards. I would see it as a bonus as I'm seriously considering buying it due to possible price increases.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea. Just make sure what you do is visit the website with the extension enabled, specifically look at the S2, add it to cart if you can - then close the website and wait to get the offer in your email. You won't see the higher % offers in the extension or even in the app at times. Once you see the offer in your email you have to click through that to enable the higher %.

Something to bear in mind is that the rewards will hit in about a month. So what's available might change for redemption choices. I've also heard each account might see slightly different vendors. Here's a list of exactly the stores I see available on my account right now (highlighted the ones I think are the most useful/versatile):

Shutterfly, Home Chef, 1800Flowers, StubHub, The Container Store, jtv.com (jewerly), Swarovski, Omaha Steaks, The Children's Place/Gymboree, Lulus, Paramount+, Groupon, OfficeDepot, Allbirds, Columbia, Famous Footwear, Hot Topic, Lucky Brand, The Popcorn Factory, Third Love, Land's End, Etsy, JCPenny, Lane Bryant, Nordstrom Rack, Under Armor, Chicos, Hanna Anderson, Athleta, Advance Auto Parts, White Black, Staples, Adidas, Callaway, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Stitch Fix, Sling, Dick's Sporting Goods, Petco, BELK, Asos, Expedia Global Hotel Card, Eddie Bauer, Ulta Beauty, Aeropostale, Bloomingdales

I don't think I would call it "flawless" emulation, but it's better than what we had before, which was nothing at all.

It's pretty flawless on my end. My definition being 'as good as the original experience' and not something like hi-res textures and 60+ fps.

I too was wondering about your question. The person who tried to answer it gave a typical eBay answer.
The answer to his question is yes. If you have not purchased the "enhanced version" upgrades separately and sign up for the NSO service to get access to those, you would lose access to it after the 12 months of NSO service has ended. At that point, you can renew your subscription, or you could choose to purchase the upgrades separately to regain access to them.
