I'm not TC'ing and I think this a good deal. But don't be misled by thinking that you can't be scammed on Aliexpress when the item is supposedly shipped from the US. Last year I purchased an item from Ali that showed as delivered with tracking, but I never received it. Seller had shipped a piece of junk to a different address in my city. This is a common scam. Again, I'm not saying this is what will happen with this bike, but if tracking says it was received and you didn't get it, you know what's going on.

I know exactly what you mean. Because of that, I installed "up assistant" extension on Chrome which gives you more in depth analysis on the seller. For example, this seller is getting an 8% trust rating with 15.7% neutral/bad reviews.

I had ordered two of these. One came perfectly packaged brand new box and awesomely packed. The other…they sent me a used broken bike with no padding, no parts or key. Box was destroyed by the time it made it to me with a loose bike bouncing around in it. Aliexpress wants me to ship it back. Shipping cost is 560 dollars… more than the bike. I've opened a dispute with my credit card but who knows what will happen now. Waiting to see what happens. Best part is I can't leave a review on the bad one to give others a warning of what happened when buying an ebike on Aliexpress goes wrong. Really hoping my credit card company does the right thing. The bike is not rideable from damage and doesn't even have the required parts to put it together.

there's going to be a lot of things to tweak with this bike. everything is built around cutting corners, not to mention you would have to do all the repairs yourself .
Do you have one or are you just winging it with a hands off review based on stuff you heard?

With my three cheap China bikes I might have spent 20 mites between three of them and things were generally good out of the box. Fit and finish were about on par with my previous bikes and generally very good considering cost. What you mention is the stuff kids and adults have always had to do with bikes be they ebikes or regular. Me and my friends could take apart a bike and put it back together at the age of eight or so.

Many bikes have been coming from China for decades and decades now. My pre ebike bikes were China bikes from Walmart that I got for about $69 and I got years and years of use from them. They were put together sloppily by some American in the store but again maybe twenty minutes of time to tweak.

We would be better advising people that can not tweak and do the most basic of bike maintenance to maybe not get any bike at al be it Amercan mode or China as it is going to always cost them

I'd rather advise them to learn about the bike and not be so fearful of some maintenance but so many insinuate that that is some hurdle of epic proportions that many just give up on trying bikes to their detriment. That is why bike ridership is down and people are way more unhealthy and unskilled.

replace you heard ? with experience of other who own this bike. the general review by most with say the frame is probably the most noteworthy part of this bike and that it's a builders bike, most lean towards just getting the s6. this bike has mechanical breaks, break caliper are no good and the stem will suck too. this bike is sourced by several different outfits as well who just slap there name on it as well .

If 40mph is dangerous on throttle, it's just as dangerous while pedaling. The only purpose wattage limits accomplish is to prevent ebikes from being a viable alternative to cars.
The wattage limits have no bearing whatsoever on preventing ebikes from being a viable alternative to cars.

It's no different than how they treat scooters/motorcycles. 49CC or lower is generally not considered a "motorcycle" and therefore don't require a motorcycle endorsement.

If you want a faster/more powerful ebike, no one is stopping you. It just needs to be correctly registered and maybe tagged depending on the state.

Remind this e-bike is illegal in most states, which usually allows ebikes up to 750W max. It may be treated as a motor vehicle and require registration, licensing, and insurance
This is false. Most states a 750w nominal not max. California just changed use law to maker but 750w max however.

Thanks for the clarification and details. That is the kind of stuff we need. Question about the stem, if you do not mind? Is there anything there that that can be weird or proprietary on china ebikes or can we always just pretty much grab one on Amazon to replace if needed?

I do have one other question and it is there some one site or sour ce to look for the details and real reviews for cheap ebikes or do you just browse around like crazy to find the details?

I find it hard to do research and I do assume many reviews may be paid but hope we see more people seriously doing real reviews in forums or sites dedicated to it that just do not discount them totally as they may be lower end. Many do give a good look but some I wonder about. Even in lower end stuff of any type there can be big differences and I sometimes find gems or at least ones that rise to the top in quality and dependability
