I'm not TC'ing and I think this a good deal. But don't be misled by thinking that you can't be scammed on Aliexpress when the item is supposedly shipped from the US. Last year I purchased an item from Ali that showed as delivered with tracking, but I never received it. Seller had shipped a piece of junk to a different address in my city. This is a common scam. Again, I'm not saying this is what will happen with this bike, but if tracking says it was received and you didn't get it, you know what's going on.

I know exactly what you mean. Because of that, I installed "up assistant" extension on Chrome which gives you more in depth analysis on the seller. For example, this seller is getting an 8% trust rating with 15.7% neutral/bad reviews.

I had ordered two of these. One came perfectly packaged brand new box and awesomely packed. The other…they sent me a used broken bike with no padding, no parts or key. Box was destroyed by the time it made it to me with a loose bike bouncing around in it. Aliexpress wants me to ship it back. Shipping cost is 560 dollars… more than the bike. I've opened a dispute with my credit card but who knows what will happen now. Waiting to see what happens. Best part is I can't leave a review on the bad one to give others a warning of what happened when buying an ebike on Aliexpress goes wrong. Really hoping my credit card company does the right thing. The bike is not rideable from damage and doesn't even have the required parts to put it together.

I would avoid AliExpress without thinking. Last time I bought a coffee expresso maker for $ 1 K and never got any tracking number from seller, just kept saying it will ship out it will ship out and suddenly status changed to shipped and delivered. Checked the tracking number, complete different address, box not even close to be thee weight and volume of the machine. Worst was AliExpress don't do crap for you. They just kept saying we are checking and you are priority blah blah blah. I got my money back through paypal. Never Ali again, never.

I agree with you it's impractical to enforce a law based on the wattage, but the problem with speed limits, is that there are athletic bikers who can ride, (using only human muscles, no motor) over 40mph. Legally, bike riders have the same rights as motorists, so if cars are allowed to drive at 40mph, then bikers should also be allowed to ride that fast on the road. Making a law based on the wattage is kind of an attempt to satisfy both requirements, preserve the right of bikers to ride as fast as cars, but preventing the average Joe to ride recklessly using an e-bike.
Quote from HilariousString9069 :
It is very rare for a cyclist to hit 40 mph and typically only down a long, steep hill. In almost all other scenarios, even a very fit cyclist is averaging less than 25 mph - usually closer to 20 mph average. E-bikes, however, can often go well over 30 mph on flat road. Some can go upwards of 50 mph on flat road. They can also accelerate much faster than a human powered bicycle. In my world, e-bikes should be speed limited to 28 mph if they're allowed to ride in the bike lane. If they can go faster, they are electric mpoeds/motorcycles and should be treated as such.
Thank you, I figured a human cyclist could never achieve 40mph unless conditions are absolutely perfect.

It really seems all the more reason that a law for ebike should be have based on practical speed instead of an incredibly impractical wattage

I brought an ebike some time ago and wanted to use it on a biking trail.. but the trail absolutely did not allow ebikes... they even explicitly say even if you use purely pedal assistance.

This sucks for people who want to enjoy the trail but need pedal assistance due to disability or health issues. I get they probably did it because stupid kids were doing donuts on the trail but to utter lock out everyone who owns an ebike is extreme.

Before anyone says, "but what if they modify their Ebike to go over 15-25mph?"

Well, it'll likely be very obvious that they're speeding down 40mph+ down a trail or bike lane so yes, they totally should get charged for that

ofcourse yo get what you paid for. I received this 5 days ago. fixed everything. connected charger over night. excited to ride next morning but charger did not charge at all. tried another day. oops none. connected and sent a message to seller. absolutely no response. they have a dedicated line mentioned on ali express absolutely no response. for the past 3 days I am struggling to get any response from them. don't buy it. you will be very unhappy 😭. worst ever experience. how can a seller not respond for 3 days when the battery does not even charge right out of the bat.
Did you flip the switch on the battery on ? That's the only way to see the battery status lights.

I got one , and it came in less than a week and is legit. Battery is fine and for the price this is great value. Mine goes 28 with 180lb rider.
You do realize bad batteries usually last for several months and slowly degrade right? You have to have a brand an components that have been reviews for a year when it comes to batteries an memory. Batteries can be tested; but the one engineer NLee who used to test on Amazon has been missing for 4 years.

This is false. Most states a 750w nominal not max. California just changed use law to maker but 750w max however.
This one is 1000W and 1500W Max.

Thanks for the clarification and details. That is the kind of stuff we need. Question about the stem, if you do not mind? Is there anything there that that can be weird or proprietary on china ebikes or can we always just pretty much grab one on Amazon to replace if needed?I do have one other question and it is there some one site or sour ce to look for the details and real reviews for cheap ebikes or do you just browse around like crazy to find the details?I find it hard to do research and I do assume many reviews may be paid but hope we see more people seriously doing real reviews in forums or sites dedicated to it that just do not discount them totally as they may be lower end. Many do give a good look but some I wonder about. Even in lower end stuff of any type there can be big differences and I sometimes find gems or at least ones that rise to the top in quality and dependability
Ebikes in general share very similar parts. The trickiest and most annoying parts about tinkering with ebikes is the wiring. There are 3 basic parts for bikes like this, the hub motor (motor is in the back wheel), the controller (which is a small electronic box right next to the battery), and the battery itself (48v battery).
finding another 48v hub fat tire motor is pretty easy to find and is pretty much compatible for the most part. The challenge you will get is that the standards for wiring are difficult to learn. on the bright side, the color coding on the hub motors is very standard, but wiring a new controller to the existing equipment can be quite a challenge.
Not to mention, the v9-g60 uses a small waterproof connector to connect to the controller, which finding an adapter for it is impossible. You basically have to make some sort of new adapter if you add either an aftermarket hub motor or aftermarket controller.
I've had my v9-g60 for over a year now, since then upgraded it to 72v battery/controller/motor. It's not cheap to upgrade so only do this if you're more of a hobbyist. If you really want more speed (40mph+), you're better off just buying a better bike. There are lots of bikes in the $1,500->$2,500 range that satisfy this. For the casual neighborhood biker, just learn a few basics of bike repair and live with this $500 bike.

That was very informative and I really appreciate it. I did kind of presume after having and seeing mine that most all parts but the electronics are pretty much generic. I think you last thought will cover me. I am not riding them a crazy lot and I suspect like my old non ebike cheap bikes I will be fine and if some bike component breaks I'll grab something off the shelf. I am a bit handy and the electronics and wiring stuff you describe sound like something I would really not relish doing and likely frustrating but probably I could handle if need be. Or tossing it and grabbing another if these kind of kind of prices hold is also an option

Gotcha, you're ahead of me in research. Best I can offer is to dig into mine when it arrives on/after 08/08.

I received the bike today. This is the controller and the only connectors on it. https://ibb.co/vxz1qwZP

Only if you have trouble with basic math.

Using the same OP's code, it comes out to ~ $496 (pre-tax).

$20 says this battery is half the advertised capacity. a 48v 20ah battery itself goes for more than half this.
