Think about it. In most situations, your are not needing this. When you do need it, 4 years later, if you left this in your car, the battery has probably drained. When you need it most, it is probably dead. I would not get any of these devices that I cannot use with a cigarette light as a fail safe. Think about it.The ability to use 12 v is everything. Think about it.
These tend to hold charges for quite a bit. Worst case is you can charge from your car's usb port. These also double as a phone charger if your car can't charge it. If you recharge this and a battery booster every 6 months you'll be fine.

You really think these will hold a charge 4 years later when you need it the most? Cmon, now. The realistic use case is it will be in the car for many years, untouched. Sure, someone ocd enough will charge these every 4-6 months (best case scenario is you don't get a flat tire for many years right?). Do you think in 4+ years, battery level will be maintained when you need it the most in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire? Cmon, now. You do you, but I would want something that can be backed up with 12v car cigarette lighter option just in case. Anything else is basically a bike tire inflator.

Charge from car usb port? So with a flat tire, you are going to sit there for hours while this thing charges? Are you seriously listening to yourself? Have you ever had a flat tire?

Considering getting one of these since it operates on a battery unlike the one I bought last summer which requires it to be powered from the cigarette lighter of my car.

Why not recharge every 6 months or so or whenever you plan on a road trip?

You will be using this far shorter than 4 years since it inflates tires as its primary purpose and tires lose 1psi (at the low end) a month in general use. https://motorandwheels.com/how-fa...-lose-air/ - If you use it at that point and recharge it after then you will be good for an emergency in the next 6 months or longer.
