Participating restaurants have a compatible POS register system. Your receipt has a receipt number on the top which you enter into the app and it looks up your bill. You then pay via the app (gratuity can't be paid via gift card or promo). I usually let the staff know so they don't think I am dining and dashing.
An extra nice thing about this program is that it completely stacks with the restaurants internal promos/rewards. I've never had an issue with redeeming a club/rewards offer during the meal and then paying with inKind offers as they are separate processes

Thanks for finding this! Going to give it a try on a takeout California Pizza Kitchen order.

The issue I'm running into is there is no option to select Inkind for payment. Anyone know how to apply it to CPK takeout orders? Do I need to select "pay in store" and then use the "pay bill" option in the app when I get there? Thanks!

Yes, you can select Pay Bill option in the app. Store will provide you with the bill number which you just have to enter in the page opening after pressing the Pay Bill. Then you will have option to select the offer you wanted use along with Inkind Cash

The first few times I paid via inkind were weird because it felt like I was dining and dashing. I later asked a server about this and they told me their restaurant operating system, the app that shows the restaurant floor plan and seats, indicates when a table pays so this has given me peace of mind.
