Guys, when you clean the back filter on a Dyson, make sure you allow it to COMPLETELY dry before using it again. I made the mistake of not letting it dry fully so when I started the vacuum, the suction pulled the water from the filter into the unit and damaged the circuit board. Allstate refused to fix it due to water damage. I had to replace the entire main unit of the vacuum .

I bought the refurb, figured if I didn't like it I could return through eBay easily.

Not in original packaging(I think), came in a brown box with each piece in their own smaller box.

Basically looked brand new, didn't even see dust inside the cylinder nor any of the attachments.

I just bought a shark stick pet pro for $75 at HD. Hopefully it works as good as you make shark sound
Their anti-hair wrap technology is very good and the rest of the vacuum is good as well, I think you'll be pleased with it. I remember sitting with scissors cutting the hair off the roller of a Hoover canister vac back in the day. I haven't had to do it since switching to Shark.

But speaking of your purchase, how did you score 1 for $75? That's a great price. Their cheapest cordless stick vac is $179 and their cheapest corded vac is $109.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Shark.../320485823 Some Home Depot's have or had this on clearance for $75 in store. There were a few near me but the reviews sort of kept me from pulling the trigger. Battery life sounded pretty bad

Bought one of these refurb 3 years ago at $300. Still going strong. Had to replace a few parts on it myself (brush head) and release button on wand. All easy stuff. Outside of that, it's been solid including the original (refurb) battery. Most powerful cordless vac I've ever owned (coming from a Dyson V8). Initially missed the fluffy head for my hardwoods, but the included brush head has been performing well enough that I no longer care. I love this vacuum so much, even the V15 detect is NOT compelling enough for me to upgrade.

Got mine and it immediately didn't work. Battery is toast. Turns off after one second of use and won't charge.

How does the warranty work? Do you have to ship it back to Dyson to get it repaired? Had so many issues with a Dyson a few years back. Been using a Miele since which is great but really want the cordless option for smaller cleaning tasks.

I got the v11 animal from a similar SD 2ish years ago and it came in a brown box but looked brand new… couldn't really tell it wasn't brand new. I've thought many times since that I should've got a second one for my 2nd floor. In for one!

Lots of long hair in my house from 2 girls. I've only bought Shark for the past 10 years because of their anti hair wrap feature which works decently well. I tried a Bissell cordless stick vac because it was on sale and also claimed anti hair wrap. Just 1 vacuum and lots of hair wrapped around the roller. More hair than my Shark stick vac that's been in service for 5 years. It's going back. How is Dyson's anti hair wrap capability?
I have a Shark also and it's hair wrap thing works well. just somehow sends the wads of hair into the canister for easy removal. that said I got a v10 refurb with torque head and it's been fine with hair. much stronger than the Shark too.

this is why I buy an extra filter pack to let that one dry and put the good one in. It takes a really long time for those things to dry!

good idea. Others should be aware of this mistake that I made and but extra filters.
