Please note Bosch's enshitification. Some settings like quick rinse and others are only available through the app which requires you to create an account with Bosch and... It cannot be run locally meaning when they decide to change the terms on you you'll either pay them, or lose functionality. The future is here.

Triple check that you want this model knowing certain features require an app or wifi to perform such as... heat dry.

Thanks - the 800 series at Costco doesn't have the enshitification, yet. Same app - but features are button accessible.

Can someone comment on the reliability of this? On the best buy reviews, a few people are complaining the unit fails anywhere between 2 weeks and 1yr 7months

Does anyone know why a 500 series would be on clearance? I've been wanting a Bosch for a while and thought the 300, 500, and 800 were all solid (with differing price points and features ofc).

I had a 500, finally died, replaced with a new 800. As another said, the prices have definitely risen post-pandemic. I wish I got another 500. The additional features on the 800 I hardly notice. Also, overall, it's worse, since a lot of functions are now app-only (delayed start, etc). Furthermore, in the name of energy efficiency, Bosch now uses a low powered pump, and I had to reroute the drain to prevent it from backflowing (admittedly, it was a long run, but the older 500 with the higher powered pump handled it fine). Maybe this is the enshitification referred to above. Bottom line- don't expect it to be as impressive as previous-gen Bosch dishwashers... and get the 500, it's the best price/feature point imo

I bought an 500 for $878 in May of 2023 just as a point of reference. Mine has been running well, no major problems. One thing to note if you self-install, you'll need a $30 junction box if hardwired to your circuit breaker.

The enshitification is that some features are accessible only via the app. Which is completely insane. I refuse to buy one now.

It's a well-known thing among repair technicians that top control dishwashers are the kiss of death. Also, it's simply a stupid idea (not convenient/ergonomic).

Hard pass if I have to register an account and use an app to access features of a standard appliance.

What's the reason everyone is trying to get a price match at Best Buy? Is it due to low stock at Lowe's? Or perhaps delivery/ installation is cheaper at Best Buy? Just wondering. Thanks.

How often do these go on sale? I'm only seeing 3-4 other deals in the last year for Bosch Dishwasher and a lot were YMMV.

Those were rare pre-pandemic sale prices. Now it's rare to find an 800 series under $1300 or a 500 series under $1000.
Not entirely accurate - I bought an 800 for 800 bucks on 5/25/23 from a deal I found here. Granted - that was a screaming deal, and it's been few and far between since.
