Just a heads up, these are $5.47 list price on Hakko USAs website and tomorrow (8/7) is their 20% off sale which they do only once a year, code HAKKO20. Free shipping (and a free gift) kicks in at $30.

Same. The only problem I have with this is the blades stay open just like you see in the picture. They're sharp so if you keep them in a bag then you're likely to poke yourself. To solve this I keep a rubber band on the handles to close them.Still - it's a 10/10 product for the price.

Cut a small length of plastic or silicone tubing to cover cutter end in close position when not in use. Safe in drawer and pockets. Silicone tubing with thicker wall is best for this purpose

This is basically a return to normal price, was $5.47 from Dec to March and then elevated probably due to Tariff BS. Buy if you need of course though

Great pair of flush cuts, are there fake ones with online sales?
Usually I get them locally which are made in italy, some reviews say these are chinese, and some photos look a little different than what I am use to.

Yeah. I needed a new pair of flush cutters while the prices were high. Said "F it!" and paid a little more for US made Kleins [amazon.com].

I know the Plato ones are rife with fakes. The Hakko's look nearly identical but have harder to fake handle covers. I'd think these would be a little more likely to be legit.
