A $20 box fan doesn't have the stand. I bought this for a room in the house that has the longest run in the house and struggles even with a brand new AC unit to keep the room cool. The vent is on the outside wall under a window and the adjustable stand to get right over the vent without touching or vibrating on the wall is great. Maybe a unique use case but there are always unique cases. I have never turned it over 3 out of 5 except to just see how powerful it can go. It gets loud at 5 but it can pull and push a ton of air.
This can pull and push way more air then any pedestal or vertical fan I have ever experienced. Can go perfectly in the window old school style. Most Pedestal and vertical fans I have seen won't reach the window. At least in my house.
On speeds 1 and 2 it is quieter then my Dreo vertical fan at max. Which is pretty quiet. I can hear my gaming computer fans over it.
This is a non Costco Version that doesn't have the stand or sleep timer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKaSwgg
Actual Costco version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B9HFKQ

I've actually tested this with the most popular box fan on Amazon vs this fan with a anemometer. The vornado blows the cheap box fan out of the water. It pushes through a LOT more air. I'm not sure where you got your number but please don't make comments like this with arbitrary performance metrics because obviously you don't know what you are talking about.

This is a tank and just requires a general dusting. I get you response but the person you're responding to is as right as you

Lasko's are fine. They also look like a 1980's fan. They have a 1 year warranty compared to a 5. Not to mention the fact that the Vornado is being purchased at Costco with their return policy.
Vornado has 5 speeds compared to the 3. The Vornado has a kick stand. It has a built in section for wrapping the cable up when not in use on the back of the fan.
The Vornado also has a sleep timer.
The Vornado sure, still looks like a box fan but it does enough in that department alone to demand a price premium.
This version of the fan is also exclusive to Costco. To get a version of it anywhere else it MSRP's for $80. That version has no kickstand and it has no sleep timer. To get those features you have to go up to the $100 model Vornado sells. Granted that version has the one thing this version doesn't. Instead of speeds 1-5 it has a way more controlled set of speeds going from 1-99.
