Just so people know, this is a chlorine bleach and lye based dishwasher gel, not enzyme based. Not a criticism, but if you've used Cascade Complete gel or Great Value gel this will clean differently. I haven't tried this yet personally, it may work great. Sort of like Cascade Original that they discontinued. Just don't mix it with anything that reacts with bleach!

Get it from Amazon fresh and use the coupon at the returns window which is typically $5 or $10 off $40.

Depends on what you are trying to wash. Bleach/Lye based formulas cleans stains better on things like coffee mugs, tea cups, wine glasses, etc.

Best of both worlds would be to get one of the Cascade Platinum products this is enzyme based and contains an Oxi type of non-chlorine beach alternative.

Nothing beats the Cascade powder which is around $6 at Wal-Mart. Greasy dishes actually activate the lipases in the detergent. I've had gels separate in storage.

In for three you know I never get to use my PhD and chemical engineering, but I'd rather Have this formulation then some so-called enzymatic formulation. you just don't have enough time. if you're running a short cycle on an advanced $1,000 dishwasher.

what's more important really than the formulation is making sure that your tap water is running hot before you initiate the start of any dishwasher. whether it's a $300 dishwasher or $2,000 dishwasher because the original fill cycle that's utilized in the pre-wash cycle works much better when the water's hot rather than cold and believe it or not, your dishes are going to get a lot cleaner if you run your tap water at the sink adjacent to your dishwasher for 30 seconds to get that hot water to the tap. so your dishwasher doesn't fill with a gallon and a half of cool water for the pre-wash cycle and especially if you're using an enzymatic dishwasher soap this formulation's great. I use it all the time. like I said in for three great deal.

Pods don't work worth Jack...

And as long as we're speaking of liquids, I've done a test where I found that with my $1,500 speed Queen tc5 that using Kirkland's signature equivalent of Tide works best when I only use 2 oz. yes you heard it. 60 ml of soap versus dumping a half cup or a whole cup in there. people going nuts with the detergent there is actually a super saturation when you put too much detergent and either a dishwasher or a clothes washing machine. the ability of the surfactant to break the surface tension of the dirt becomes inhibited when you supersaturate the water with too much surfactant. that's why if you put 2 oz of Kirkland tide clone soap in it suds more than if you put eight in. if you don't believe me, try it.. less is better... softeners not even necessary. that's just the function of people over drying their clothes created by static electricity in the dryer by the way

I was getting the double pack of this from Amazon for $7 last year. That's a lot of inflation…
